Snowing moderately in Lyndhurst, NJ. Temp is 24.4, Pressure 29.52 and falling rapidly. About 1" on the ground. Looks like NYC and the eastern 1/3 of NJ is under a nice band right now. Hoping for some thundersnow later. Enjoy everyone!

Just starting to get into a decent band in Westchester...not sure why but radar has been deceptive and showed heavier snowfall than what is occurring at the surface.

same here.....about 2 and the wind is ripping........snowfall rate seems okay...hard to tell

Allsnow - is that a measurement? I'm up to 3.25" as of 4:00 pm, with 1.75" falling in about the past hour. Coming down in buckets. It's awesome. Not hard to measure in my fenced in backyard, which cuts down on wind impacts/measurements.

Just measured 2.75 inches. Snow had lightened up some but looks like it will increase in intensity shortly with that band coming west. And that band coming onshore southeast NJ is sick!

i cant post an accurate number bc i live on sod farm in Miller Place and have very little settled tree area for measuring, but its bear dry in wind facing locations and up to 5" in other parts, but i am going to head out onto sod farm for a bit to feel the force of the storm at this point. It's all white-out looking out there and there's nothing more tantalizing than heading into it before sundown with the fantasy of being stuck out there blinded by snow. Whole flock of canadian geese were out in it earlier but cant see them now but im bringing loaves of bread cause its last thing i need at this moment and maybe they could use it... Either way AS of NOW looking like my part of the Island MAY miss the heaviest bands and the western part toward NYC may be jackpotted but cant believe any of them will be experiencing the raging winds on this farm now

I just measured an average of 5.5" about 10 minutes to your west in Colts Neck. Gorgeous out there.

I am on the southwestern part of Lincroft, right on the border with Holmdel. Measured in numerous spots and got 6.5 virtually everywhere.

So I just measured just over 4" here in East Setauket...we just had a near 50mph wind gust already...

I am not backing off of the possibility of a Cat 1 Wind gust that i went with this morning... (need to see update? see the link in my sig!)

Winds Switched to NNW and really picked up, cold air sinking off the mountains as opposed to trapped next to the mountains really helps. We go gravity and the mean flow on our side now.
