GaffneyPeach
Two weeks ago...I was happily looking down the barrel of the biggest snow I've seen in a few years. One week ago...I was wussin' (whining/fussing) because my road was still covered in ice and snow. :/ Three days ago....I walked out of work (at 7am) and it looked/felt/smelled just like a cold SPRING! morning. Today...I am wussin' about only a garden variety snow (here today gone tomorrow) in a few days. :/ I should be put on meds....immediately!! oconeexman
No need to bail yet, not given what's transpired this season. +1 72hrs out for the carolinas and people throw the towel in, if you're throwin it in then go watch TV. For me there's plenty of time for the temp issues and track issues to change in our favor.

eyewall
Question: If Raleigh squeaks out a couple inches of snow given that most of the posters feel 99% certain they will get nothing but rain, will they still complain, whine, gnash their teeth if say GSO and points west clean-up with 6" in GSO, 8"+ in CLT, and more than a foot in in the foothills and mtns? Just curious, because then you will kinda know what it felt like during the 2000 storm for us folks west of 77. Not trying to pick a fight, I just want to know the mindset that will happen ahead of time so I don't get snippy with people. The RDU people have a right to b**ch after being screwed with the last system. I don't because I got hit both on the day after Christmas and on 1/10-1/11 but that doesn't mean I am thrilled with cold rain by any means. It's actually amazing the amount of people who gave up...I'm surprised Jeremy is done with this storm completely and is moving on....what!??! I come back from being away all day and everyone in the main thread is more depressed than I've ever seen them....everyone just needs to take a chill pill, relax, throw in a movie, and come back for the 0z Euro. I'm not sitting happy at RDU by any means, but I'm not going to dwell this far out.

oconeexman
I guess the only real chance of mostly snow in the upstate right now are the warm mid levels are projected too warm and will show up colder tomorrow and monday and the system stays on the coast and doesn't come too far inland. I'll admit that the warm nose banking against the mtns. has me worried, happens 90% of the time on these types of systems for MBY when we don't have cold air established already. Not giving up yet but not going to expect a major snowstorm either! I believe this is just one of several chances for the SE over the next couple of weeks I just need a half inch on the ground to say i had a foot of snow this winter, that's what im hoping for. Cold Rain
Allan Huffman said there is a good chance RDU gets accumulating snow from this. Anything 3 inches and above is a good snow for here, so I'll take it. Allan Huffman was analyzing a specific model run. He said no such thing in his official forecast. Normally, the stuff I listen to is way more intense than that but I couldn't find anything about rain.... hey, how do you embed a YT video? Tried both the old and new embed links, the media insert box, etc etc. I'm supposed to be a nerd and I can't figure out how to do this stupid video embed.... kvegas-wx
damn, I was away in sunny cali all week. I caught wind of the storm outbound, never checked the board this week, and come back to weenie suicides. Meh, after 70 and sunny on the golf course this week, I could easily be persuaded into an early spring!
