Its also not a Carolina only thread or is it??

 No, it's not. I replied in that way because posters shouldn't address problems like that in the main disco thread as we are under Storm Mode operating status

If you want to continue this conversation with me, join me in the banter thread and I will explain why meteorologists, pro forecasters and forecast hobbyists that live in NC don't forecast for TN as often as they do for NC. This has been addressed several times and sadly it's getting quite redundant.

Im just glad its TN/AL complaining now and not GA like the last few years. It just takes time to build quality posters from each state. When I started lurking in 04/05 good GA posters were few in number. Now we have a bunch. Hang in there TN and AL folks. We appreciate your input.

Well, we do have some great long term posters form Tennessee for sure(East TN Weather, NashvilleWx, Mr. Blob(typo intended), etc.). There just isnt many red taggers from there.

For sure! Whats kind of annoying is I have heard TN and KY mentioned countless times today. All one has to do is make a mental map of what people are saying. I do agree though GA is pretty well covered now.

Back when it was just eastern and eastern had just started (late 03) us SE folks had to ask the MA and NE folks about stuff down here.

Needless to say it was difficult and hard to get answers. However, after many years the SE thread and now sub forum was born. Even though GA folks had some issues gaining coverage (however, GA is covered get now) this is the worst I have seen folks in other states calling folks out for not covering the state they live in.

As membership grows in these states, the discussion will increase.

But as for now keep asking questions. :)

I think most people on our board can be easily classified into one of the following:

Official Board Member Flame Warrior Roster

I already have most regulars on here characterized into one of these groups.

A psychologist would have a 'hay day' on these weather boards. Geessh!

Lighten up!

Sample:

jekylhyde.jpg

As a forum participant Jekyll and Hyde always plays by the rules and is consistently cordial and helpful – a model netizen, until one day he comes completely uncorked and lashes out without warning. His unanticipated thunderbolts can temporarily rout even the sturdiest Warriors, and it often takes some time for his stunned opponents to mount a counter attack. Jekyll and Hyde’s sudden behavioral change may result from a psychotic episode, PMS, a downturn in the market, a bad weather model run, a busted IMBY forecast, a Dry Slot or 850 Warm Nose during a Winter Storm, a surprise visit by the in-laws – or a session of hard drinking

propellerhead.jpg

Propeller Head knows just about everything there is to know about computers and the internet, and is a little mystified that you don't. Often an inarticulate and clumsy fighter he is still much to be feared because with a few deft keystrokes he can reduce your computer to a smoking heap of ruined metal

blowhard.jpg

Blowhard feels the need to present his credentials before entering the fray - even if they are irrelevant to the discussion. For example, in a movie forum conflict he might attempt to settle the matter by saying, "As a Ph. D. candidate in particle physics I believe I can say with some authority that the 'Beavis and Butthead' movie represents the emergence of a new cultural paradigm." Huh?

grenade.jpg

Grenade isn't actually a Warrior, per se, but it's an ordnance so widely employed that no Flame Warriors guide would be complete without mentioning it. When lobbed into a discussion forum Grenade instantly blasts civil discourse into smoking rubble

Just got done watching True Grit! Thought it was good, Jeff Bridges is awesome. Didn't have to dig through many posts to get caught up so I knew it wasn't good. Holding a smidge of hope that the NAM wins out on the deformation band or ULL or whatever the mess is behind the original storm. Guess it all depends on the track of the Low...think it's pretty hard to forecast where that band sets up and crosses. Hope whoever gets it takes some video...nothing better than an intense heavy wet snow falling IMO
