Just got unloading a load of wood I cut and it didn't take long to work up a sweat though. But just sitting outside feels really good. It's been a long time since it's been this warm. That's not 850 temps. Those are surface temps. And it looks like it almost has Mexico City getting down below freezing. 850s are down into the central Gulf at that time, though. Hopefully you came north right at the paradigm shift of Ga. winter climo, and days like this will be rare, and not familiar, like they are now, lol. T You might want to kill me for this, but a stretch of warm, dry days in the middle of winter is one of the redeeming qualities of southern winters. Places up north may not crack 50 for months at a time, while we get a few days in the 60s at least each month in winter. Some outbreak potential for sure. If that vort max can stay as south as what the 18z NAM shows (or go further south), some red flags are going to go up as severe weather becomes imminent. GaWx Posted January 30, 2011 Share Posted January 30, 2011 Today was an absolutely glorious day here in Savannah with beautiful blue skies, a nice breeze, very low humidity (TD's in low 30's), and temp.'s in the mid-60's. There still was a bit of a chill in the air along with the comfy heat from the sun that felt sooo good in combination. This all made for the best walk in some time. As much as I enjoy cold in the winter, you're not going to hear me complain about these typical southern winter mild interludes. We get a good number in most winters and we've hardly had any of them this winter to this point. I'm looking forward to more of this next week. I was finally able to put the shingles on my shed and there was actually some heat building on the roof. Sure beat working out there a couple of weeks ago with melting snow dripping all over me.
