Alpha5
A scraper with mod. snow? Look at the QPF shield you have a 992 low of off NJ and a of QPF in ABE how often does that happen? The vort is very consolidated, yet very intense
supermeh
That 1029 High coming down looks good.

LVblizzard
Models are jumping all over the place with this, it's impossible to trust one solution just yet. I'll put more stock in these when the s/w comes ashore at 12z tomorrow.
Alpha5
.75 QPF basically cuts through the city this run like the Euro ens
TheTrials
Now the northern energy runs out ahead and the southern stream takes a nice stroll along the gulf and then comes up just as the next high comes in. The first high is long gone and so is the return flow since the initial northenr stream trough comes though. Snow begets snow.
Zir0b
-30c and lower 850 temps associated with the new high, that would surely wrap in plenty of cold air as the low bombs out. this is one of the better runs for I-95 in the past couple of days imo. blazess556
That high is in a decent position. It really helps keep the cold air in place.
A-L-E-X
I really like the looks of that HP building down in SE canada... Same here, looks to be just in time, too. Timing is everything with this, so a little variance means huge changes-- hence all the different solutions we're seeing. Nice to see this on back to back to back runs though. Alpha5
GEFS/GFS and Euro/Euro ensembles all seem together on this type of track......have to monitor how this progresses but its a formidable combo either way
chubbs
Nice run on GFS. Can't get too excited until it gets some consistency.
whiteout
I endorse this solution Of course you would this run gives the same old areas the big snows like all year, while the interior continues to get the shaft.
TheTrials
Very much like the two ensemble means. 850 and 540 line are hand in hand and north of that line surface temps are cold courtesy of our neighbors to the north. Thank you Canada!

They really never had an inland track.
blazess556
Looks like maybe a consensus track building between the euro and gfs and their ensembles.
rgwp96
a 50 mile shift to the west would be nice, what i dont understand is why are these storms precip shields so damn small to the nw.

EasternLI
It seems that just a little later arrival allows just enough time for that HP to build in....If this is how it goes down....that would be amazing.
Alpha5
a 50 mile shift to the west would be nice, what i dont understand is why are these storms precip shields so damn small to the nw. Its all about the vort...while strong, its relatively small and as a result the QPF does not extend far past the low.....the more energy flying around, the more extensive the QPF
tombo82685
basically it looks like we want this event later now...it went from monday to tues/wed...now on the gfs its late wed into thurs lol.
