This should be taken very seriously as a distinct possibility. Pushing the climate system toward instability is a dangerous and foolish act if ignored in the face of uncertainty. I guess we will just have to hope for the best since the world's political and economic condition seems not to be up to the task of proper recognition with regard to the seriousness of human induced climate change.
