We talk about driving away posters...does anyone think that with the increasing number of female meteorgologists in many markets the incessant dick and balls talk here may outright offend a ton of them?

We can always even things out with a little T&A talk.

:arrowhead:

. . . Kidding.

On with the snow. Storm letting up here in Woodstock. I am going to stick with the 6.8" here in Woodstock.

Still have to get Brooklyn total.

it shouldn't have to be all black and white like that though.

one of the reasons i have typically enjoyed this forum is that it's a place to feel out what could transpire with an event with other folks while also just casually enjoying the weather.

i don't come on here to voice my opinion on how things are going to shape up/which model is right/wrong etc. etc. it's just a place to talk about the weather.

Couldn't put it better.

Lots of us don't do weather for a living but have always been interested.

It's a place to get informed, observe the banter (sticking a toe in sometimes) and yes, escape....

Senses of humor are necessary for this place to prosper with non-pros - who wants to become a meteorological Sons Of Sam Horn?

all was good with snow until the snow/sleet/ice storm the other day. that crushed my snowpack. i had a nice 5" on the ground...now just snow banks at the end of the driveway and a sugar coating from what's falling right now.

I'd love to see Kevin live down there for a week. We should give him an all expense paid trip during a winter fook storm. Worth it's weight in gold.

Just some light snow activity left here. Probably squeak out 5".

I don't disagree with that but do you really think the rape mentions, dic*s, as*es and everything else that goes on in these threads belongs? Do you think Turtle or Dylan or anyone else wants to see a thread of storm thoughts/observations where terms like that are tossed around? PC can go to far, but we've crossed some lines lately on civility for what is a very intelligent group of people. The stated forum rules are:No personal attacks/OT arguing

Try to stay on topic , Attack the idea, not the poster, Spell out your forecast/thinking/opposing viewpoint clearly

, no foul language.... so why are the few allowed to constantly go outside those lines? (Im doing it now OT but storm is largely over) Why when things get heated do people start asking about peoples personal lives and jobs and why is that tolerated like what happened to me last week? For you it may be different, your website in your signature gives you a place to spell out all your thoughts and ideas, most of us dont have that and do it here and always have.

Ahhh, gotcha. Good stuff though! Exactly. And the poor NAM, so ugly. What a shock, it broke my heart already :P

And like I said after the blizzard, someone would ride it and bust on the snowy side. Likewise, just like I did pre blizzard...someone will ignore something and go against it next time and bust. The great thing about being totally inconsistent is there is no pattern. It's just as likely to nail this next one as miss it totally.

Very light snow now, mainly just flurries.

2-years ago sounds right. I think that's when I hit -11 one morning. Maybe can make a run at it again Monday morning.

Yeah, we didn't make it nearly that cold then. Hmph. BDR has a record of 4 on 1/16/09 for third all-time and 3 on 1/17/09 is just tied for third. Balmy compared to you.

So yeah, my 2004 thing up there stands for here.

i never expect to hold snow pack here. it's almost impossible. we can have a run of a few good weeks etc...that's typically all i look for.

if we have visible piles of snow... i consider that a win. LOL.
