Ridiculous, you must mean 6.1 or more

What's funny is that when I was looking out the window at 7am...I thought maybe I was underestimating because I was getting used to all the snow this year and 4" was beginning to look like 2" to me.

I'm a bit bummed out...but thankful to at least get a little bit of fresh powder to go on top of our concrete snow pack and set the mood for this weekend's arctic plunge.

Hoping next week can deliver something a bit more substantial.

I have to stick up for myself man..I can't have people gang rape me and not say anything. That being said I've made my point

that i understand.

i'm just saying, who cares?

you don't issue forecasts to the general public and are free to say whatever. if anyone on here is taking your word (no offense at all) as gospel and spreading it to their friends, family and co-workers...shame on them.

not only western ct but parts of central ct..much of western and west/central mass..spfd to noho to greenfield and the coastal spots already mentioned..

myself and many areas around me only have four to five inches and its over

Those areas don't count either. Let's be clear, in the western 1/2 of SNE we are only talking about areas over 1,000 feet with less than 20,000 people living there. East of there, it's only areas north of the areas that got less than 6". In those areas it verified perfectly.

I strongly doubt North Cumberland had 6" at 727am.

Why though? Kev and his neighbor reported 5-6 a little after that and Cumberland was under heavier echoes?

Stand up for yourself by being rational.

I never care who is right and who is wrong. But when I've got to listen to it from someone (who made a comment this morning about the last two years) while busting horrifically all week...it's amusing.

By his logic his 1-2" call for CT the other day verified, 67% of the people that reported to NDBC were over 2" for a two day total.

Seriously...what planet are you from? The only reason people are ragging on you is because you can't admit you busted. I'm sorry...80% of CT will be <6". Unless you're 6-12" was forecasting the max snowfall (which we know isn't true based on your 14-16" lollies), you can't claim victory just because some of the region verified on the low end of your range. You're ignoring half the region and claiming victory based on a few 8-10" reports. I'm sorry...3-6" was a rational call in CT, and even that busted along the shoreline.

agree agree agree.

My forecast was 4-8" was pretty good... but for many areas will wind up on the high side.

I'm not going argue Kevin about his snow measurements because he generally is spot on but the not owning up to a bust (this is 2 bad ones in a row) is aggravating.

I haven't seen one person post yet apologizing for bashing OKX yesterday... especially given the fact their ADVISORY won't verify in some areas!

Lol, that's exactly what happened to me this morning. I eyeballed 2'' but it was really 3.5''. Getting cocky.

It's funny, looking back to early AM (12-2) some of the pixie dust we got that was surprisingly productive before the "main" show helped me to barely get over 4. Sorry about your disappointment there.

Watching a Sharp-shinned Hawk chasing a male Cardinal over the fresh snow is cool.

Final thump should add maybe 2 inches? Should end the day with 8ish.....and BOS should be within an inch of 50 for the season.....already almost 50% above last year's frustrating winter. This winter (as Ray has alluded to) is the antidote of 2009-10 so far. Looks good as far as the eye can see pattern wise.

So Boston went nearly 300 days without measurable snow, then get's a season average in a month?

Looking forward to reaching below zero a couple more times. Hopefully I can beat the -10 from 1/17/2009. That cold stretch from 1/15-17 was also preceded by a light 3-6 inch snowfall.

Are you being facetious? TheSnowman reported 5.8" of snow after 9am and he's in Cumberland. I reported 5.0" in Blackstone just before 9 am. There's no way Cumberland had that much at 742am...we were ripping and probably picked up 1.5" in the hour before I made my report. They probably had 4" or so..maybe less.

Yeah, sorry about that. You got that right on the fresh powder and next week. Turning into the arctic tundra will be interesting. Next week we cash in again big time! Let's go!

I don't think anyone cares about his forecasts, it is just the "I was right" and "verification" afterwards

Dude you are ridiculous. Last year I posted and blogged about their outrageous forecast that busted by about 1 foot. I think that was reasonable and I don't feel bad about that. I would hope someone would call me out for such a terrible forecast. I never made it personal... but simply said it was one of the worst forecasts I've ever seen.
