Grothar
Could you take a guess on the highs/lows for the cold snap? I mean are you talking records being broken type cold? Does -5 to-15 break records? The point is that it will be cold. Any thawing from the previous storm will be frozen. If there is an ice storm, a disaster declaration may be issued with states of emergency being issued if power outages are widespread. With that type of cold- how will people say warm? It is going to be interesting come next weekend

Voyager
Thanks Grothar. I'd like 4-8 to top off what we already have on the ground. The official forecast is for snow starting starting after midnight Monday night. Then after 1:00PM possibly mixing or changing to freezing rain. Tuesday: Snow likely before 1pm, then snow and freezing rain. High near 26. East wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Tuesday Night: Snow and freezing rain before 1am, then rain or freezing rain. Low around 21. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Then there is this HWS from State College: A LONG-DURATION STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BRING A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW...SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND RAIN TO THE REGION FROM MONDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW COULD BE HEAVY ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE STATE STARTING MONDAY NIGHT. SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF FREEZING RAIN ARE POSSIBLE OVER MUCH OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY. If most of that precip were to fall as freezing rain....ouch.

_AR_
I am legitimately concerned for a major ice storm across the area. The models seem to have been trending colder at the surface. Especially the lehigh valley, as they will change over to freezing rain first. The northern tier of PA may be saved by a few more inches of snow before changing over. SP
Another "snow is in the air" day in the Poconos. Veru light but picking up an inch or so would not be shocking and we are half way there already. Nothing like working outside around the cabin on a day like this one. Perfect!
