I remember reading posts last night from some saying they hate to be on the western fringe etc in reference to the Lehigh Valley and I remember telling them that this was coming west.... and that is indeed what this system did..it tucked in very far to the west ....thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Alot good the models were. I was saying west and so was JB. He was not that far off was he? I know I saidw as hoping about 10+ inches and I was close.thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Exactly almost a foot here in Allentown on the day...which is well over what was forecasted and we started off with a forecast between 3-6 inches...I been talking 6-12 in this area for at least the past 48 hrs and told people that the GFS/NAM/ etc were not handling the system the best...in the end the only model that showed the correct track at one point and time was the Nogaps ...and then the ECM followed by the GGEM...

When the nogaps is west & wound up and the rest of the models are east..its coming west ! scooter.gif

Looks like NW New Jersey won't be getting robbed this time around. Heavy snow with somewhere in the neighborhood of eight inches, I would presume. Been snowing since around 9AM. Much more snow than forecasted. Although oddly we're still only under a winter weather advisory while the rest of the state is under a warning.

The cold and snow this winter have been awesome and I hope it continues!

So the only place left this winter in the screw zone is us in the Wyoming valley. Yippie!!!

And Tamaqua and Hazleton. Just think, I am 35 miles from downtown Allentown, and only about 25 or so from the western edge of the Valley (Fogelsville). They got upwards of a foot while I got 2.5 inches. Eerily similar to the Feb 2006 storm that seems to have started this mess.

Here's a basic map, based on the latest local public information statements. It appears that anyone south of the red line got what I would consider a decent snowfall (6 inches or more).

Unbeliveable storm. Probably won't see one quite like this again for quite a long time. At least one where the ULL was so strong.. imagine if there would have been better phasing here. This storm would have been measured in feet....

This isn't directed at you (or any other poster) personally, so please don't anyone take it the wrong way, but statements like this are why those who ended up "in the screw zone" can get upset and frustrated. Who knows when this run of incredible coastal lows will end? It's not often that we see so many so close together. When these do end or slow down, it'll be back to your average overrunning type events, and they usually don't include awesome deformation bands, CCB's, thundersnow, and 2-4 inch per hour rates. Those are awesome sights to see and for the sixth time in 2 years, they missed JUST to my south or east.

What an amazing storm to watch unfold...

a unique "double barrel" system. The banding was intense and the rates were the same

what I found to be the best was the 2nd system when it started to dig in offshore, it pushed the precip shield back nw, against the flow of the atmosphere

that was a lot of energy to my se

Unfortunately someone had to be in the screwzone....sorry Voyager...your time will come

But 2.5 inches isn't "horrible"

I'm going to shovel/measure when the sun comes up

rough estimate 7-9"
