chrisNJ
Just check out that band from NE NJ back through the LV. You can see a pivot on latest radar returns right around ABE in those yellow echoes. Heavy snow here in Easton and not even quite under those yellows. Will I be able to get to work tomorrow? Not unless they plow the streets by 800 am.
LVblizzard
Heavier part of the band setting up over Allentown. I can barely see down the block. Heaviest snow since last February, and this still might be heavier than that. Just wow...
ParanormalWx
Looks like the back edge is helping make the gradient tighten up and produce better lift.

Voyager
These above posts in the last six days are to show you to never give up hope. Past Storm History usually will match or beat a computer model when it comes to snow totals - why because the models rely solely on present mathematical data and does not incorporate historical data. In other locations maybe, but not here in Schuylkill County. Once the models went east and introduced the tight gradient, they never looked back. They more often than not they were showing a 1-3 snowfall here. We've had nothing but light snow here, never even moderate. Round 1 gave us only a half inch, and adding round 2 into it, we got 1.75" so far. Unless there is some kind of miracle, judging by radar, I'll be lucky if I see 3. WeatherGuide
If anyone is familiar with the hill leading to Bear Creek Ski area.. just hearing over the scanner they've closed that part of the road.. aren't leaving anyone come down.. and "7 or 8" cars are stranded up and down the hill. Good thing I didn't try to make it up there tonight!

We are solidly on the NW side of the heavy band. Still looks heaviest to the SE over Morris County but I will very gladly take it with no compliants. MagicalMysteryTour
Thanks Pohopoco. The way it's snowing here, I'm surprised it's not thundering. I used my infrared temp probe to take a reading just outside my window... Came back at 21F... I checked all over and kept coming back with 21F. Wish I had an actual thermometer to set out. Should be an interesting call with the local schools in the AM. Would rather not be home with the kids while I try to work! On radar you can now see the entire storm start to move NE. If you are in the good stuff, looks like it will be for the duration.

Just cleaned the back deck for the dog. About 4" total thus far including the 1" earlier. Does not seem overly wet or heavy to me but definitely not fluffy or prone to piling up rapidly. From what I here many schools already have delays up. Being this should be over by 2-4AM I would think delays should be enough.

Good thing I didn't try to make it up there tonight! State Rd is not the best rd even on a dry day. It has been snowing at at least 2-3 inch an hour clip in Macungie. Plows cannot keep up with that snowfall rate and State rd is really steep. No thundersnow yet but snowing like a son of gun

WeatherGuide
Yep.. i am really familiar with it snowboarding every weekend.. in the last bigger storm three weeks ago i came down it.. even with 2-3" on it its scary as hell. Haven't been out with a ruler but I'd estimate between the two about 8". I have happily busted here. (Not as good to the south of us -- Upper Montco and Bucks look like they're already approaching a foot..)
