Even if the temps drop below freezing prior to the precip which is doubtful with cloud cover, the ground temps are going to stay above freezing for awhile which will probably prevent the early snow from sticking. The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 2 am to 3 PM EST Friday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.
