It was funny even though the models did what you say there were still some funky posts going on as people would panic a bit about a wobble here or there even though the final result was always gobs and gobs of snow. Oh no it's a hair South or oh no it's less amplified or oh no it's trending too far North. We are such a paranoid bunch it's pretty funny....and sad. This year should be back to normal....any modeled storm in the long range is just fantasy then as the models show cold and dry for as far as the eye can see it will snow a foot by accident.
