SnowMan
Yep.....feel free to ask whenever confused....it's our pleasure to assist. Ok, just to make sure I am on the right section I am looking at the 500mb relative vorticity. Should I be looking at the 1000mb-500mb thickness and MSLP? 40/70 Benchmark
Ray ....feel the same .....BUT it will just be nice to have flakes in the air.....i am starting to get like a snow snob.....i don't want 23F powder that i could clear with a fan. i'd rather it plaster to everything at 30F and then get a deep freeze. I agree....sugar powder blows not only because it is less resilient and capable of transforming the landscape, but because it often jackpots the beaches. JBG
Nothing has changed.....the only thing is how fast the system organizes off of ACY and bombs inside the BM....it's still 3-6" SNE wide and maybe more..... Does just west of the CT border in NY count as SNE?

So to overlay do you just switch back and forth? What is the MSLP?
Clinch Leatherwood
Said it before, reminds me of 94 , just a straight powerful overunning quick hitting snowy six to ten hour period I don't feel like we are at the point of final solutions - pending the rest of the 0z. Once we hit that threshold it'll be time to look for all the potentials.

40/70 Benchmark
So to overlay do you just switch back and forth? What is the MSLP? Surface low pressure...I don;t use Twister, but there should be an option that overlays H5 heights with SLP.

NorEastermass128
My First Call I'm an amateur...take this with a grain of salt. EDIT: Probably could just extend that 2-4" to encompass the pink area too. Widespread light-moderate event. Perhaps someone SE of TAN will hit 7". weatherwiz
Hard to tell...looks like it might be digging either a bit more than the NAM or just as much.
BostonWX
My First Call I'm an amateur...take this with a grain of salt. I like it, pending the 00z GFS. If it amps up more than maybe I'd go a little higher
weatherwiz
GFS looking like a good hit for the area and especially out by the Cape...like my 4-8'' call there with lollipops to 9'' or 10''.
HIPPYVALLEY
Does just west of the CT border in NY count as SNE? Ha, in these threads sometimes just W. of ORH doesn't even always count as SNE.
mattb65
Pretty close to a solid low-warning hit on GFS for ENE and a movement in the right direction compared to the recent trend(finally).
SnowMan
So at hr 42 is the GFS slightly, ever so slightly west compared to the NAM at the same time period and 4mb weaker?
NorEastermass128
GFS Is 3-6" region wide....least in God's Country...perhaps an inch or two. <div><br></div><div>Still like my call...</div><div><br></div>
weathafella
Pink Floyd on weather on the eights... I still think 6+ is very possible with high ratios. My friend's flight got canceled...a Delta connection from Memphis to BOS but mne is on. No reason to cancel given this medium vs high impact system.....but I'm a little spooked and would hate to get stranded....

ORH_wxman
Crazy uncle looking rather robust at 5h....can't satisfy the qpf fetish crowd as the critical 36-42h time frame is missing, but it looks similar to GFS at 30-36h, maybe a smidge better. HIPPYVALLEY
Move east. Just moved west 4 years ago - lol. Actually Ray, I've got to say the best snowfalls of my life were my years in Cambridge. 70's as a kid then 96 - 2006 as an adult. Several "epic" events.
