Parsley
I'll tell you what folks, despite the misses on the blizzard and a couple of other events, since the surprise snow on Thanksgiving morning, this has really unfolded so far as a classic winter. Agreed, even if it didn't snow another flake the rest of the winter, I wouldn't be too upset. With that said, whether next weeks storm tracks inland, or off the coast, we should see our seasonal snow totals go up atleast some either way. Billabong
thanks guys. Not bad at all..We did have a little over 3" though in Holmdel, just east of that 2.5 marker in northern Monmouth County thanks, fixed.

JTA66
I'll tell you what folks, despite the misses for those of us to the north and west of philly on the blizzard and a couple of other events, since the surprise snow on Thanksgiving morning, this has really unfolded so far as a classic winter. True. And I think I posted on Thanksgiving how Novembers snow make me nervous for the following winters. Some years, it turns out like 1987 or 1989. Other years it turns out like 1995. So far so good.
Absolute Humidity
My first attempt at a snow total map. Excellent Map as the Rain Snow line litterally setup over my BY. One mile north of me got 3" while 1 mile south got under an inch. MBY in the battlezone split the difference with about 1.8.
Thunder Road
I didn't see any snow (although I wasn't really paying too much attention) and now I'm down to 27.8° from my high of 347° at 11:25 this morning. Edit: 34.7°

famartin
just curious, which model would we say performed the best with this storm? I mentioned this earlier, but the GFS overall seemed best from early in the week to the actual storm. EC seemed too dry and weak, GEM and NAM were too strong/wet. I'm most impressed that the GFS beat the EC. The other thing of note is that the GFS was pretty rock solid steady throughout... something to watch for with the next system (and obviously, its not there yet in any model other than the fact they're showing a bomb). Note that this post doesn't have anything to do with areas outside of our region, GFS might've blown chunks in Maine or elsewhere, honestly I don't know
Animal
HRRR posted in the previous page says you'll get 3, with 3-4 at NYC. Big gradient NW of there. measured 2.5 inches in Edison around 5 AM
Animal
just curious, which model would we say performed the best with this storm? I would have to say that RUC model that nailed the warm push into the immediate PHL burbs, DE and NJ. NAM was poor leading into the event..GFS was solid for the QPF overall and track of the low. Not sure what occurred in my local area, but I seemed to have the lowest snowfall total in the area. Metuchen was also low which is down the road from me
Absolute Humidity
just curious, which model would we say performed the best with this storm? Not sure, but I'd give the Short term prize to the RUC. I believe the RUC was most expansive with the warm tounge. Precip wize goes to SREF's as usual. I think NAM also flirted with warm tounge idea. famartin
I would have to say that RUC model that nailed the warm push into the immediate PHL burbs, DE and NJ. The RUC overdid the warm push further north however, bringing it all the way up to NYC which clearly didn't happen (much to Tom's disappointment ). I've checked out of the next threat thread for now. All anyone wants to do over there is hug the snowiest model. Yeah I know, big surprise, but its annoying. I might show back up in a couple threads when its worth it. If PHL can get 3 or more inches in the next storm if one occurs, and a few inches in FEB and March, this would be on heck of a 2 year run for for the area and a past decade. We had some rotten winters over the past 15 years that I have been following weather

By the way, I sent Mount Holly my 3.0" measurement that my dad took at the end of the storm yesterday morning in northern Holmdel.
