famartin
GEM wasn't too wet in my opinion. I think it was right on as well. 0.20"-0.40" across most of eastern PA for the past 36-48 hours. I was thinking of back when it had the bomb. Even back then, the GFS was pretty close to what ended up happening, and the EC was too dry just about throughout. Rainshadow
I am impressed to say that overall, the GFS seems to have done best QPF wise by far. In between the flaky but generaly wet NAM and GEM, and the dry EC... Really can't use the nam or can rgem qpf as is, the nam's bias the last month has been hovering around 1.5. Even the nam's "hit" for sern nj on 1/8 only looked good because the ratios were 20:1. Doesn't take anything away from the nam's ability to identify precip patterns or sweet spots. scottynic
crazy how it picked up speed... that system hung out over OH way longer... but still nice to wake up to some freshies..

True....I forgot about the bomb early on....still, the past 2 days were in the ballpark. GFS was the steadiest throughout. Let this be a lesson to those who freaked out when QPF dropped right before the storm hit last night. Its not always panic time.

Sea Witch
About 3" in Rydal amazing the differnce from Center City which had nothing when I got to work (only 10 miles).
RedSky
Pleasantly surprised to report 4" on the nose woke up at 4am to see it snowing heavy
Parsley
I was worried but didn't back down, since I remembered the models did the exact same thing right before 1/11. I thought 2.5" max around here and in Trenton. Shocked Trenton got almost 4" while Philly saw less than an inch. I obviously don't got the snow climo of Trenton down to well. I was associating it more with Philly, then say the northwest suburbs of PHL.

Let this be a lesson to those who freaked out when QPF dropped right before the storm hit last night. Its not always panic time. Models still have spin-up the qpf problems within the first 12 hours. Much improved from how it used to be. Probably the best qpf are usually about 24 hours before the event begins.

Mark has developed a regression equation for PHL using ec, gfs & nam, it gave 0.25" for PHL. The office number was 0.23".
Rtd208
Received an estimated 4-4.5" of accumulation at both my work and home location.
RevWarReenactor
3 inches here in Morganville, NJ (Marlboro) Monmouth County Amazing the difference. I'm maybe 15 miles east..................we got maybe a dusting. I think we picked up a couple inches initially but it all melted when it turned to rain for a few hours and the dusting was on the backside. dryslotted
Barely a coating near Rainshadowville in SNJ...Center City about the same, though its tamped down on the sidelwalks and its damn slippery walking around as a result...
greg ralls
Gotta give Mt. Holly props for nailing this one here in King of Prussia. We had a nice 3.2", which was just what they predicted.

NaoPos
Yup props to Mt holly for standing strong with the advisories and an over all great call. M.Gorse FTW! at least it wasn't too much to shovel down here in delaware county

Redmorninglight
Yes, props to Mt Holly for the no accum call. Perhaps our epic run of being the improbable sweet spot is done for a while. Glad you all got a nice snow. At least we got good waves this week.

iceman56
26.2 in NW Chester County. 4.0" new snow. Snow depth in yard 7 inches. Rooting for zero here in the valley Saturday night...
MGorse
M.Gorse FTW! at least it wasn't too much to shovel down here in delaware county Thanks, but the non-snow precipitation ended up coming much farther inland than what we had. At least the forecast was trended in the right direction yesterday afternoon. If it was colder and rain did not occur for a time, more snow would have been able to stick at PHL. By the way, 1.6 inches of snow in Delran Township, NJ.
