GEM wasn't too wet in my opinion. I think it was right on as well.

0.20"-0.40" across most of eastern PA for the past 36-48 hours.

I was thinking of back when it had the bomb. Even back then, the GFS was pretty close to what ended up happening, and the EC was too dry just about throughout.

I am impressed to say that overall, the GFS seems to have done best QPF wise by far. In between the flaky but generaly wet NAM and GEM, and the dry EC...

Really can't use the nam or can rgem qpf as is, the nam's bias the last month has been hovering around 1.5. Even the nam's "hit" for sern nj on 1/8 only looked good because the ratios were 20:1. Doesn't take anything away from the nam's ability to identify precip patterns or sweet spots.

True....I forgot about the bomb early on....still, the past 2 days were in the ballpark. GFS was the steadiest throughout. Let this be a lesson to those who freaked out when QPF dropped right before the storm hit last night. Its not always panic time.

I guess I'm more impressed by the GFS beating the EC overall.

I was worried but didn't back down, since I remembered the models did the exact same thing right before 1/11.

I thought 2.5" max around here and in Trenton. Shocked Trenton got almost 4" while Philly saw less than an inch. I obviously don't got the snow climo of Trenton down to well. I was associating it more with Philly, then say the northwest suburbs of PHL.

Models still have spin-up the qpf problems within the first 12 hours. Much improved from how it used to be. Probably the best qpf are usually about 24 hours before the event begins.

I am such a snow weenie!!! LOL

as soon as Mt Holly dropped our WWA i went to bed radar looked like it was going North to my untrained eye!

Woke up at 4 and saw a few flakes fly!!!

I have truly enjoyed reading the PBP of the Obs you all are the greatest, i actually felt like i was in the storm reading the posts! Thanks

Just pissed that my 3.5" snow pack is now gone! couple patches in the shady areas of yard but that's all!

On to the next one!

Again Thanks

Officially @ Dover rain to a few flakes!

M.Gorse FTW!

at least it wasn't too much to shovel down here in delaware county

Thanks, but the non-snow precipitation ended up coming much farther inland than what we had. At least the forecast was trended in the right direction yesterday afternoon. If it was colder and rain did not occur for a time, more snow would have been able to stick at PHL.

By the way, 1.6 inches of snow in Delran Township, NJ.
