Sunny and Warm
18 miles WSW of ABE we have a dusting on the ground. Light snow falling for 30 minutes now.
famartin
It seems like the NAM will be right in that there will be no snow before midnight along I-95. At least, that's my strong suspicion at this point.
kpantz
Visibility has dropped in the last 10 min. Here we go... light snow officially falling. Surprised it's sticking on the roads already.
rgwp96
Steady light snow has begun to fall at ABE airport. This is going to be awesome! how long has it been since you have seen snow?

Riptide
Up a degree to 35.1 with light SE winds. 33.6 here, I was looking at nearby obs and dews are generally hanging around 25-27. Looking good for some wet snow.
Boreal
Very light pixie dust type of snow here. Enough for a light dusting so far. It would probably be a moderate snow if we had decent sized dendrites though. Ditto in Bangor PA @ 8:45 25°

Boreal
He saw advisory snow Monday. Most folks here in Lehigh Valley/NE PA area have the potential to meet or exceed highest snowfall of the season with this storm. That coupled with no mixing drama is the cause for interest. RkTec
how long has it been since you have seen snow? I think he lives in Orlando, FL and just flew into PA today. lol 27.8 degrees. Had light snow falling a bit ago, but it has pretty much stopped. Few flurries falling. Think a brief dry slot moved in.
Billabong
HRRR agrees. Of course, it only calls for 1-2" total for some reason (apparently mixing?) No mixing, at least in PA. Has precip moving through so fast, .1" - .2" liquid is all that falls.
Akeem the African Dream
He saw advisory snow Monday. I got lucky and was in CT for the holidays and caught the Boxing Day Blizzard. Before that it was about ten years since I saw actual accumulating snowfall.. Work brings me to Allentown now. At least this cold is not wasted while I am here. It would make me more upset that it was near 80 at home today. Looks like a decent solid event through the Lehigh Valley. What is not to love? Parsley
Yup, no one should be worried at this point as nothing of importance was to occur til after 6z. Thereafter, its a 4-6 hour thump of snow where most places pick up 2 or 3 inches. Farther north (north of I-78) you get more overrunning precipitation (the light stuff falling now) so that should give you an additional inch or two on top of the thump of snow after 06z. Still looks like 1-3" SE PA and 3-6" NE PA
Thunder Road
No mixing, at least in PA. Has precip moving through so fast, .1" - .2" liquid is all that falls. oh okay. I saw 925mb temps were okay, but I figured maybe the surface was over 32. It handled the 1/12 event rather well, so I'm curious to see how it does tonight (and I hope it's wrong, lol)

Thunder Road
I know it's rather late in the game, but the 0z NAM really yanked precip out. 0.1-0.25 for us, the 0.25+ is confined to the LV & north
Voyager
Everyone better hope that new NAM is wrong or few if any are gonna meet advisory... It keeps pushing that .25-.50 area farther and farther north. I'm borderline now.
Thunder Road
I see it precip starting to break out now but it was rather dry on GR3 for a while. even now there's just one small, rather tattered band from Dauphin Co over to Q-town

You have my sunshine and 80's while I have your 3-5" of snow We have a dusting of snow at ABE. Snow is slow but steady. So far so good.
LVblizzard
The radar looks fine. I don't think there were supposed to be any radar returns over MD/VA, and that can only be a positive for us.
Voyager
Ray's current panic riot nam run, radar looking like Agreed. Don't want to panic yet, but the way it's going it looks like it'll be nothing but a squall line by the time the heavier stuff out west gets here.
