phlwx
12/9/05 redo? Stronger solution produces a bigger thump of snow north of Philly but sleets on the city a bit and cuts the accumulations down from the city on south. Storm then bombs out off of SNE and they ooo and aww over a sub 980 storm.

earthlight
CCB kisses NYC at 69 hours. Definetely more developed and further NW..a hedge towards the NAM but not as strong with the surface low.
NittanyWx
At this rate Worcester is gonna have 200 inches of snow this winter. These past 10 years have been completely unreal for SNE and the Northeast in general.
RU848789
goose- how much did they get today? The public info statement had Worcester with 3.4" as of about noon and it's freezing rain now so not sure they got much more snow than that; the WSWarning said 2-6" in the larger area had fallen. Doubt they have much more than the 36" we've had in our area, although I could be wrong... http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=MAZ012&warncounty=MAC027&firewxzone=MAZ012&local_place1=2+Miles+SE+Auburn+MA&product1=Winter+Storm+Warning

eduggs
NAM, GFS, GGEM falling nicely in line for moderate snowstorm. A nod in this direction from the Euro would make for high confidence. The storms keep lining up.
eduggs
No wraparound precipitation with this storm in our region because the mid-level low doesn't get its act together until it's in the GOM. Frontside dump could still be intense if deepening rates are rapid during SLP closest approach.
Parsley
If we could take a blend of both the 18z NAM and 18z GFS, I think everyone in our region would be very happy with the end result. Tomorrow is already Wednesday, so really this event is fast approaching.
earthlight
The past three or four storms have taken the same track and trended northwestward. There's a reason why these things are deepening so rapidly..it's wash, winse, repeat. And here's one of your major synoptic reasons.

This winter its been like a long fuse and the matches just keep dropping. I know we often awe at satellite/radar and upper air maps, but SST anomalies can be just as plenteous. We seemed to have lost all the anti-snow/cold people, we usually had a few of those around but they have dissappeaed the last few years.
A-L-E-X
These past 10 years have been completely unreal for SNE and the Northeast in general. Basically a repeat of the 60s-- if you look at Don's AO map, the AO is as negative (or more so) as it was back in 1960!

I dont want anything to do with NBC anymore... that forecaster you mentioned also stated two days before the post Xmas blizzard, that we'd only get flurries. Maybe that was the network Bloomberg was watching.
