weatherMA
Precip just about over, still some -FZDZ at 32F. Looks like a little over 1/4" ice accretion, roads not in the best shape.

dryslot
Done shoveling ... nice fluffy snow that was easily removed. 6.7" and now some freezing rain and sleet are glaciating it. Should be a total fookin' mess in the morning. You will get to cover it up tomorow afternoon with another 1-2" of snow...........

Cold Miser
Please tell me I'm not the only one who had the snowblower going for 2" of slush? . . . There is reasoning behind it. Mainly the sloping driveway and what happens after this crap freezes. It is NOT pretty. We are not looking at a huge warm up before the next cold, so I would be looking at a serious skating rink in the near future.

Yeah, I haven't looked at any models since the 12z runs but I did check out GYXs forecast and noticed the love for tomorrow. That'll be nice if it happens. Sweet winter all of a sudden. Let's get Friday to work for us, too.

cpickett79
AS THE SURFACE LOW PASSES EAST OF MASSACHUSETTS...WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH AND ALLOW FOR SUB-FREEZING AIR TO FILTER BACK DOWN INTO THE REGION. FORTUNATELY THIS WILL HAPPEN AS THE PRECIP ENDS...BUT ANY WET SURFACES WILL BE AT RISK FOR FREEZING INTO ICE. 717 KBOX AFD concerning tommorrow's "event" LOW PRESSURE WILL LIFT INTO THE CANADIAN MARITIMES. HOWEVER...AN ABUNDANCE OF MID AND LOW LEVEL MOISTURE WILL REMAIN IN PLACE. IN ADDITION... A SHORTWAVE WILL SWING ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. THIS WILL GENERATE SOME SCATTERED RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS...ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTHERN NH/EASTERN MA. WILL RUN WITH CHANCE TO LIKELY POPS TO COVER THIS EXPECTED ACTIVITY...WITH THE HIGHEST POPS IN THE EASTERN SECTIONS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE FREEZING ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS...SO THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF RAIN OR NON ACCUMULATING SNOW SHOWERS. ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN...ITS POSSIBLE THAT SOME LOCATIONS RECEIVE A FRESH COATING TO 1 INCH OF SNOW. box says no accums for CP and coating to inch for ORH county hills S NH hills. NBD per box. would like to see this overperform.

I shovel instead of using the snowblower because it throws dirt in with the snow. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I like nice, clean, well sculpted snowbanks. moneypitmike
30.3/29 Just freezing drizzle/mist. Driveway is a sheet of ice FTL. Snow almost looks like a pond with all the ice across it. Kinda neat actually. Even though it's nearly dead calm, the trees are still creaking with the ice on them Looks like the flight out tomorrow's on time. Enjoy the snow THursday night. I'll be enjoying it on the radar and thinking about what a disaster it's going to be to try to get in my driveway at 11:00p.m. Friday night after the plows have gone through. What's the thinking on whether temps might hit freezing here? Forecast as lows of lower 20's, but I've yet to start the downturn.

Did it come out of the chute like a Snoopy Sno Cone machine? Before my current snowblower I had an ancient one that did that...all the time. New(er) one is the bomb. Still wind up shoveling quite a bit to tidy up, but no need to kill yerself to look tough to the neighbors

Mr Torchey
Tomorrow's "event" on the NAM Will do you think this even falls as snow, looking at 850's at this hour looks like the precip is outrunning the caa. Do you think any snowshowers is relegated to higher terrain?

Do you think any snowshowers is relegated to higher terrain? It may be too warm in the lower elevations for any accumulation. But we'll see. Could be a 32-33F wet snow and if it comes down hard enough, even lower areas might pick up a minor accumulation.

I worked today, came home, momma kin had the sidewalks done and half the drive by hand, she took the day off, I finished it. This pack waterlogged is going to be fully glaciated tomorrow night. Hated to see the Burl and Ives scene go but thie locking up of the pack with a super hard freeze right before another four or more is perfect.
