mattie g
I wrote something to Jason lobbying for upping are amounts and we crossed e-mails. It sounds like I was lobbying to the choir and he's already pretty excited. I'm not sure what amounts he'll end up with but think it likely he'll nudge them some based on the very intense snowfall rates being forecast by the nam and gfs, Do let us know when it's updated, Wes. By the way...you guys should be proud to hear that my friends - who are no weather weenies - go to CWG for their weather info. I've been keeping them up to speed on what's happening via e-mail, and I often get quotes from CWG in reply. I'm telling you...that's a great compliment coming from those morons! eurojosh
Absolutely personal, IMBY question for which I apologise. I'm supposed to fly out of Dulles tonight at 10pm. I have no idea how they normally deal with winter weather (I imagine they're better than Heathrow...). Is it likely flights will be running? Apologies for personal question. Bouys off the coast reporting SE winds, winds shifted to W at HSE so its pretty much on the beaches south of VA beach right now.
weathercoins
So do we have any time frames for the heavy stuff? It seems that the spread, at least by the TV mets, is from early afternoon to "after nightfall". Personally I'm thinking a few hours before sunset in the DC area. Thoughts? thesnowsknows
I'm going to reiterate the obvious because redundancy is so called for in this instance: Lwx is on some serious crack right now. You guys in D.C. will DEFINITELY have a WSW by the time this thing is finished. Let's just hope 10 deaths or crit injuries don't happen before then. usedtobe
I think its 2 hrs early? That's also what I heard. The nws has issued a very aggressive special statement indicating intense snowfall rates and a hazardous rush, so give the guys a break. They now are advertising that the event will be messy and dangerous to commuters. This was not addressed you Yoda nor to anyone specifically, just noting that they have got a stement out about the danger.

snowfan
If we get an area-wide 6-12 snowfall, I imagine that the Fed will shut down tomorrow with the exception of essential employees. All of that heavy wet snow on metro tracks, sidewalks, parking lots, etc. is a pain to clear.
