Sparky
Very nice agreement between the GFS and the NAM re: total storm precip amounts. GFS shows 1"+ from DC-Annapolis and straight eastward toward Dover. not liking the drop off in northern md but it is probably wrong anyhow. WxUSAF
What are the temps east of 95? We should be more interested in that ... precip will be there. By the time of the heaviest precip and possible convection, the temps are cold enough aloft for snow.

yoda
it basically matches the 0z euro as well.. stripey dc/balt Agree... NAM though did have a thin stripe of 1.25-1.50 though on it.. so it might be a bit overdone... NAM/GFS/EURO agree on around an inch QPF of just about all snow DCA/BALT... not really sure what LWX is thinking right now still having WWAs... and i wonder what OPM will do... mitchnick
Most of us already received 3-5 inches this morning. Suck it up and deal. had some mixing so my total was around 2.5", but I ain't complaining my office, 6 miles SE of my house, had less and a friend from Severna Park had 1/2-3/4" everyone else should understand that the precip will be caused by the upper level dynamics, no dynamics, no precip; more importantly, it will be those dynamics that will also cool the atmosphere such that one hour you're drizzle at 34 or 35, then the precip/dynamics move in and you're 32 with heavy snow the further north, the cooler you will be but all the models put the heaviest strip of precip between BWI and DCA so the extra qpf should result in a uniform snowfall for the area, all things considered
I-83 BLIZZARD
not liking the drop off in northern md but it is probably wrong anyhow. I have 5 inches on the ground and still seeing moderate snow. At the rate it's going I may wind up with 6 or 7 by the time it gets here. You never know where these bands will set-up, but if they stay south I can survie becasue I still will wind up with near a foot anyway, anything else is just bonus. snowfan
I think we're looking at a start time closer to rush hour, which means folks are not going to get out of work early. usedtobe
I wrote something to Jason lobbying for upping are amounts and we crossed e-mails. It sounds like I was lobbying to the choir and he's already pretty excited. I'm not sure what amounts he'll end up with but think it likely he'll nudge them some based on the very intense snowfall rates being forecast by the nam and gfs,
