Aboutr 2.5" snow on the east side of Columbia, but we did have sleet/pellets and some rain mixing in during the 7-8am timeframe.

I concur on at least 2.5. I did not take an official measurement here in Elkridge (just west of 95), but it could have even a touch more.

Can't wait for the good stuff to roll in. Anyone have an ETA on our first shot at thundersnow? We thinking rush hour / happy hour / slow carnage hour? :yikes:

He's joking my friend.

I think it would be funny if a few of us set up a joke thread like 6 hours before a major snow event right during the normal "panic" period and start talking about how horrible things are. Post obscure pressure readings, wind direction reports, Cape and moisture convergence maps, and a bunch of other stuff that 90 percent of the weenies wont have any idea what they mean and pontificate on how its all falling apart. We might thin the herd a little bit.

I like you about as much as a stranger reading a weather forum can, but I gotta say that would be a really d!ck thing to do.

your right it would, but I am about the biggest smart arse you will find so I probably am a dick. Some people need to lighten up about it though...the tension during this pre storm period is always too thick. I wouldn't go too long with it, probably 30 minute at most before letting them in on the joke.

Nah...I understand and agree on lightening up a bit. Just thought I'd stand up for Weenie Nation!

Just like War of the Worlds! I am afraid this too would lead to actual suicides.

Can you help me get this straight? Looking at the Bufkit data for the 12Z NAM, it's showing 3+ inches/hour from 4pm on. But it also shows 2 hours of Rain/Snow. Surely it's overestimating temps and it will all be snow, correct?

Not being a weenie, I'm asking seriously about commute/public safety/timing. That pushes total Snow rates through the roof. Thanks.
