stormtracker
looks like it's pretty sold on keeping energy in the sw for a storm later in the period. we need to name that d8 bad boy. NADS II: **** it

Ian
Just a weak wave and insanely cold. Holds the energy for the Hoffman storm back a few days. The GFS is sticking to its guns. maybe it's more apt to call it the hoffman shortwave. if it chills there for 10 days im not sure it's the same storm. WxUSAF
So if the Tuesday "storm" (flurries) is the Hoffman storm, than the one with that energy left behind over the southwest is Hoffman's Big Papa?

stormtracker
We can only hope the GFS is wrong here and focusing on the wrong vort. Because it is finding new and different ways of screwing us

WxUSAF
Hoffman flizzard gives us maybe 0.1" of QPF. Probably some friggin sweet ratios though given how cold it will be on Tuesday. GFS keeps weakening that s/w though and leaves more energy behind. Might not be anything left of it soon.

WxUSAF
12z GFS definitely says that big dog is moving out at 150. Low brewing up in the western Gulf. Much more going on relative to 6z and 0z. Worried about cold air in our area though...

eurojosh
The real storm is only 8 days away!! It's going to be a snowbomb. I was in Europe last year and missed all the big snow. Back here this year - no snow. Going away for 10 days starting next Wednesday - you can count on at least 2 big snows in my absence. Then back to cold and dry when I get back. Because the snow just hates me.
