weathervswife
The 500h low closes off so far south it would be tough to have it get much farther north at our latitude (I think but of course could be wrong). My man. Wanna come to my superbowl party? Steak and Shrimp!!!!!!!!
I-83 BLIZZARD
Didn't someone articulate the rule that take whatever the NAM gives you at this range and cut it in half and you have your total. Even that this season would be a nice hit. Regardless of QPF, this is a step in the right direction. Come on GFS
clskinsfan
I think its a lock we see WWA's tomorrow for Loudoun County west. I might have to come home tomorrow. I gotta see at least one 4 inch storm this year.
baroclinic_instability
Are you trying to cancel the storm? No dude. Never. That's the kiss of death. One of these days they will have to do a play by play radio show as the storm is occurring. That would be a guaranteed success then.
PhineasC
Time for a RADIO SHOW!!!!!!!!!!! OH GOD NO. PLEASE NO. NOT NOW NOT EVER.

They did those last winter. This winter they go with the show 50 hours out so we can hear Wes sigh and ORH_wxman talk about snow ratios in SNE as the storm screws us. mitchnick
RGEM shows a big hit too looks a hair warm, but don't worry about that now as it always is a hair warm, even last year
clskinsfan
His "First Initial Suppositional Shot-In-The-Dark" or whatever it was is looking pretty good. Yes it does. He had my area with the heaviest snow and the 0z NAM agrees with him at this point. Check out the map he posted on his Facebook page.

mitchnick
my God, look at the vertical motion map off the RGEM at 48 hrs better nail down anything that is planted in the ground folks http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/data/model_forecast/770_100.gif

baroclinic_instability
Right now I would say the NAM 0Z track of the upper low is about perfect both because of the positioning of the stretching deformation band, but also because of the position of the upper low and region of steepest lapse rates. This enhances not only vertical ascent but the potential for convective enhancement.
