TowsonWeather
Temps schmemps - this is a massive improvement over 18Z. We have to hope for a track like this and cross our fingers that the temps work out colder.
jlewis1111
Rainstorm. I see no snow ric dca bwi none No High North of us. If we get anything it will be backlash and you know how that works out lol

Ian
The 500 is so nice and juicy...shame there is no high... it can snow without a high. this run verbatim would be a legit backlash threat with the ull passage. i dont believe in it but there has been some signal throughout of it. we're definitely not going to know the temp profile for another 24 hrs or so at least. it's warmer than i'd like, sure. WinterWxLuvr
The idea of this sort of "trailing" precip on the backside is one that with every run of the sref's becomes more prevelant. Don't know if it means anything, but that's what's been happening with each successive run.
weathervswife
OK, rally at 72 and 78 with temps and qpf. Total qpf not that bad actually. NAM still a joke.
WVclimo
Looks much better here now that an American model throws some precip back this way. Euro was a 4-6" snowfall for my area today, and now GFS moves toward it.
MD Snow
It would seem we get a little snow on the back end...prob not much accumulation though due to 2m temps

I-83 BLIZZARD
It is west of the 12Z run so it's a step in the right direction. Let's see what the Europeans do.

Neero
Once again, New England wins... are we surprised? I'm going to go ahead and shut the book on this one. I mean, maybe a few inches on the back end of the storm, but is 1-3" anything worth writing home about?
lsukev
Where is the qpf? This run is laughable. A 996 on the coast with only "light green" everywhere. I agree. And wouldn't more precip bring the surface temps down?
weathervswife
OK, everybody hang in there for the Feb 2-3 storm. Whose storm is this BTW? DT get this one?

WinterWxLuvr
Bit off topic, but everybody is in here, so ...... interesting..... current Mount Washington ob: -33 F, NW wind at 71mph. I know we are interested in incredible weather. I hope I'm not out of line with this.

WinterWxLuvr
Maybe we should stop with the temps hysteria. How many times have we been screwed by temps? How many times have we been screwed by precip? Exactly.

If the GFS wasn't moving the major features hundreds of a miles each run I would say maybe you could worry about the temp profiles now. we're basically back where we were before the burp which given the euro makes it likely it was a burp. temps are an issue but there is some cold to be tapped. as the low goes you can see it feeding in. in this time range a 500 loop like this is probably about exactly what you want to see. i mean, it's still a little messy with the additional small vorts about but this yr.. i'll take it. as much as i hate to agree with you we are just off threading the needle. lsukev
I seem to remember more than one of last year's storms looking like temps were going to be a problem, and those of us in the DC metro area know how that turned out.
