Organizing Low
Do we have to talk school closings every storm? LOL fook it let them stay home, let them be kids and stay home and play in the snow, yea OK, parents inside on their computers, kids on their phones and video games, sad. weathafella
NAM 15 hour H85 line is near the NH border but still cold lower levels. Verbatim sleet for GC and most of MA by mid morning.
cpickett79
precip will initially go more up to the west near Hudson Valley....all models show that...but it shifts east with the heaviest stuff later on 0z nam bring ML 0c 850's to Wma/ Wct border by 7 am F'n great. dendrite
00z NAM is awful. lol Ugh.
weathafella
NAM this run says NO ONE in the 3 SNE states gets much snow. Sleet fest interior.
PineHillsWx
SREFs are a tick cooler with the 0C line this run, but they're still concerningly warm. The mean is only about 3-5" here before a changeover to ZR/RA. MOS has been unimpressed up here too with mostly MAV/MET snow cats of 4s or 6s. I have the same feeling I had Sunday before the Pats game, I smell a rat.....have the feeling this one is going to disappoint....

HoarfrostHubb
NAM this run says NO ONE in the 3 SNE states gets much snow. Sleet fest interior. But the NAM is always right? aw crap... meh, my son will enjoy playing in the sleet and cold rain
dendrite
I don't know....NAM has been flipping like a trout for this event...... The SREFs have been steadfast warm. You like the snow MOS cats like I do and they kinda suck right now. Lots of flags IMO. Plus the WAA aloft often seems to overachieve in these situations. Ryan
This is ridiculous to me.... 4º here now. I get that with a warmer wind direction especially the mid layers of the atmosphere will warm.... but damn this is a COLD airmass!
weathafella
Good lord this run fooks everyone!
OKpowdah
Yes. But the reasoning that it nailed last storm, therefore it must be right doesn't make sense. What about the last storm was unique? John pointed it out. It may be great but it's hard for me to just take the bait without specific knowledge of why I should... agreed. It's performance last week has no bearing on this storm
simpsonsbuff
Sounding indicates that's all snow here (KLEB), but once that warm wind gets up in those midlevels, it never seems to stop... Humph. Edit: all snow through 24... then a nice 1.5 at 850 at 27 hr.
ineedsnow
i think this has a major icestorm written all over it

Plus the WAA aloft often seems to overachieve in these situations. Yeah the numbers haven't been big. I'm a little gun shy given their abject failure last week though. Different system however. This is abject and strong WAA and it doesn't seem to want to be denied.
HoarfrostHubb
LOL, Gardner, MA is at -3.0F and it will rain Tuesday?
cpickett79
Good lord this run fooks everyone! nam scores coup in 11'th hour with ML temps ....over Euro....GFs....etc. what a slap in the face this run is. What do other meso models look like Mets writing AFD's are probably biting their nails.

cheetah440
I just signed up for Jetblue 2 hour notification. Hopefully delay as the flight is too damned early at 8:41. I'm feeling Friday. We'll both get out (unfortunately, for me at least), better clear the drains, we gonna get rain.
cpickett79
i think this has a major icestorm written all over it perhaps W of 91? precip takes even longer to really get in to central Mass on this run. those WSW In orh county look a bit flimsy per nam. lets see if GFS puts a bullet between the eyes.
