DomNH
Doubt it. Yeah, I was expecting warmer last night when I went to bed. Still hope I end with zr though, love seeing glaze atop snow.

Mr Torchey
30.4 light freezing rain looks like things are beginning to shut off, become much more showery in nature. Friday looks insane!

Organizing Low
Off to do some shoveling b/c my mom has to go to work...all this shoveling is killing my back, can't even really bend down. Luckily I'll be going to the doctors sometime this week or next week...so long as I still have insurance. BIG mistake! you never shovel until the freezing rain is over. that is if you want to walk. shoveling is counterintuitive here, for walking purposes.. leave the snow on the ground. 40/70 Benchmark
Well, it's safe to say that the blooming phenomenon displayed on the 12z NAM is not of the late variety. I'll stay with the GFS\EURO for now.

40/70 Benchmark
I like the gradient of the new BOX map. Looks good. I was arguing that it should have been more latitudnal all along; when mid level temps are the main determinant, proximity to the ocean should be of secondary consideration. Get ready to spike the snw football, KLWM.

Flakes are reasonable, not great but they're getting the job done. Vis sucks. Interetinnlgy I'm getting more plow action today than from any of the prior events. Temp continue to slowly tick up. 16.1/
simpsonsbuff
Right on Suzie Cue, intensity has picked up here in Hanover... If the NAM is anywhere near correct with it's precip shield (can it nail a 6-12 hr forecast?) and based on snow amounts further south, it's going to p-a-r-t-y time. Damage In Tolland
AWT WE HAVE UPGRADED PORTIONS OF EASTERN CT...NORTHWEST RI AND PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL MA TO WINTER STORM WARNINGS. THE BOUNDARY LAYER IS JUST SO COLD AND WITH THE SURFACE LOW PRESSURE EXPECTED TO PASS NEAR NANTUCKET/OUTER-CAPE ITS GOING TO BE AWFULLY TOUGH TO GET TEMPERATURES ABOVE FREEZING MUCH TO THE NORTHWEST OF 128. THEREFORE...RAPIDLY ADVANCING MID LEVEL WARM AIR SHOULD CHANGE MOST PLACES TO SLEET/FREEZING RAIN UP TO THE MA TURNPIKE BY NOON. THE COAST SHOULD EVENTUALLY CHANGE TO RAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON AS ENOUGH OF A MARINE LAYER WORKS INTO THE REGION. HOWEVER...NORTHWEST OF 128 WHERE TEMPERATURES WILL PROBABLY REMAIN BELOW FREEZING THE MAIN PRECIPITATION TYPE THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE FREEZING RAIN. ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH OF ICE ACCRETION IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION. THIS MAY RESULT IN LARGE TREE LIMBS COMING DOWN ALONG WITH SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES. THIS WAS THE REASON WE UPGRADED TO A WINTER STORM WARNING.
