Alright I'll go ahead and embarrass myself. First time trying this:

New Haven 2-4" snow brief sleet then .4" rain

New London 1-3" snow brief ice then . 5" rain

Providence 2-4" snow brief ice then . 4" rain

Hartford 4-8" snow sleet then .2" ice ending with 33F drizzle

Torrington 7-10" snow sleet

Charlemont 9-13" snow sleet then ice

Worcester 9-11" snow sleet brief ice

Westford 8-10" snow sleet brief ice

Wilmington 4-7" snow sleet, .3" ice

Boston 3-6" snow ice, rain

Nashua 8-10" snow brief sleet then ice

Keene 10-13" snow sleet

Concord 9-12" snow northern extent of sleet/ice

Laconia 11-15" snow

Portland 6-10" snow sleet ice

Bridgton 15-18" snow

:weenie: You're probably giving me false hope, but in the event this verifies, I'll give you two weenies.

Unless you came out of the womb wearing skiis you were once one of the aholes. I'm not sure what's worse the people tearing up the mountain or the people that ski by little kids doing 35 mph on green trails.

I'm talking about snowmobiles. Too many riding 1000cc machines that are like chainsaws through this powder we have on the trials. That and the fact that they don't care about anyone riding on the remains of what they leave in their wake. Of course, I did start skiing when I was 3, not quite the womb but close and I was never an ahole on the mountain.

Yes.

A single storm over-performed even 12 hour 0z NAM forecasts and it's much revered because of it. Doesn't mean it'll change from what has been a dreadful two winters of performance the majority of the time.

One of my favorite activities as a Patroller was x-ing out lift tickets of this particular brand of Ahole. "you can't do that!!" to which I said "Yes I can!" clip.

NAM is about 4mb deeper with the low vs the 18z run and the SLP has virtually the same placement. The deeper storm is bringing up more mid level warming. A huge shift warmer in thermal profiles

Yeah but it had the SLP track down, and the general area of max dynamics/QPF as well. So it did a great job no?

Busting on mid-level strength is the norm for the NAM. Sometimes it goes in your favor, sometimes it doesn't.

If you're forecasting ice in our neck of the woods, then you can hardly ever go right.

You right but -

Ah, No Worcester County North big time issues

This is sacrificial to snowgods for next one. Gots to even out. I drove down to Plymouth Ma today. I swear I have more snow than anywhere around. DPW in town did lousy job. The streets are very narrow and dangerous. Rain actually welcome to lower snowbanks on sides so atleast one can see.

OT Jets still suck

HA! My bad, and I can imagine there's the same "type" on the snowmobiles too. Never really gave it much thought that they could tear up those trails too.

Good move. Someone got so close to us Saturday while we were helping the kids their ski pole hit one of the wives while he zoomed by. The trail was wide open, wide, and there were very few people on it. We were on the edge in plain site, well out of the way. The guy did apologize as he was slamming down, but still. Thankfully Sunday River is not a place where we see that happen often, Waterville..that's another story.

All of the girls took up snowboarding Sunday. Quite funny watching them as they all reverted from very good skiers to snowplows.

Anyway good luck with this storm guys. I might see an inch of snow/something measurable before it goes quickly to a snow erasing downpour.

is john jumping off a bridge.....or is he not sold on mid levels from hell

box was really hammering ML warmth on disco.....

seems like mid levels torch ahead of schedule.....what to we want a weaker or stronger low to limit torching mid-levels

it seems at 12 hours (12z =7am) the nam is weaker with surface low but mid levels 0c are much further north.

from 12z run to 0z run the 24 and 12 hr 0c line has shifted from near allentown to binghamton.

I don't care if some cranberry bog in in Carver, MA gets down to -10, tonight.....it has no baring; this setup blows because the high is offshore and the primary joins it to tag team us.

More wet, than white in these parts......probably break even.

Will make for a nice ice skating rink to drive on. That's the part that sucks. I'd rather it be 32F and pouring rain than 10F and pouring rain.

Now worries. Yeah, mostly aholes in the snowmobiling game really. It's too bad, it used to be so much fun, now it's survival out there. Machines too big, too powerful, too fast and the general IQ of the rider has gone down. It's hard to imagine 3 feet of snow is now gone on most trails, but that's the way it is these days. Back in the glory days of the Cheetah440 (1973 vintage) we'd be good for the rest of the year.
