ag3
Just went outside. Everything is ice where there is no snow. Streets are a mess. Very dangerous commute for work and the school crew today. Manhattan streets probably have no ice, so Bloomberg won't delay or close schools. He only thinks Manhattan is NYC.
Wxnyc
Noticed that central park stayed stuck at 28.9 last few hours, lga at 30.9 so they will obviously have difficulty rising here in south Brooklyn it's slowly creeping up 31.9 so we are getting there on ene winds. SnoSki14
I don't remember it ever being this icy this morning, probably 2 or 3 tenths of an inch of glaze ice everywhere, it looks like an ice rink outside.
Alpha5
Thinking about it, we have more sleet than zr here, the mid levels were warm, but not warm enough so sleet fell for a few hours, its zr now though
stemwinder
Posted this in the PHL thread too - Have no IMBY thermometer, but it looks as though we've just passed the melting point here in W Windsor, near the D&R Canal. Lots of ice over a light snow cover -
Brian5671
FR rain here, 28.4. - radar looks like the worst is missing east?
Wild Turkey
Light freezing rain here in Ringwood, although it has picked up some over the past 15 minutes. I feel like I may have done more harm than good by shoveling the snow down to pavement/driveway. Everything was much icier ten minutes after I had shoveled. Drz1111
It's going to change over. Central Queens is all rain now.

Central queens gets no Hudson valley drainage, and depending on where you ar in relation to the moraine, is really exposed to marine flow. It's rare, but entirely impossible that Manhattan north of the battery stays ice while most of Queens flips. Happened in an ice storm in the late 90s, IIRC. simpsonsbuff
It's going to change over. Central Queens is all rain now. See an earlier post by JConsor on why that might not happen... well he posted a model anyway... we'll see... just taking an outsider prospective up here in KLEB. Sundog
There's not much precipitation left. Even if you have rain now it probably won't even melt everything that fell prior to changeover. And people were talking about losing the entire snowpack a couple days ago!

I'll take it though here, keep my snowpack intact and with another inch and then a coating of ice...
