THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS IN

EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST TUESDAY.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE: SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS: AROUND AN INCH OF SNOW...FOLLOWED BY A PERIOD OF

SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...WHICH MAY PRODUCE A COATING OF ICE.

* TIMING: LOOK FOR THE MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET TO CHANGE TO FREEZING

RAIN BY 200 AM...AND CONTINUE INTO THE EARLY PART OF THE

MORNING COMMUTE. AFTER 700 AM...AS TEMPERATURE RISE ABOVE THE

FREEZING MARK...EXPECT PLAIN RAIN.

* IMPACTS: ALL UNTREATED SURFACES WILL BE HAZARDOUS THROUGH THE

EARLY PORTION OF THE MORNING COMMUTE.

Thunder - seems like the timing is spot on to me. That and total snowfall as well.

The icing in PHL will not be bad.

the NWS grids have me staying all snow until 4am.

Granted, the mix line will probably slow as it moves north, but I don't see another 4 hours until it makes it to lower bucks.

wow this seems like a much earlier changeover than expected.

already sleet moving in to philly with sfc temps in the 20s? yikes! i wonder if this is why Sterling went with the WSW for Baltimore...

That wasn't unexpected. Its a bit early, but it was expected that it would still be in the 20s when it started to switch.

PHL vis just show up to 2 1/2 so likely sleet mixing in now.

One wonders if Mt. Holly is going to be doing the same for Philly & surrounding areas.

Sleet is relatively good for driving....ZR....now that is a problem

Hopefully we can get some IP to accumulate on top of the snow and lessen the impact for AM rush, but either way it will be a mess out here in NW Chesco as I suspect we will still be in the 20s near daybreak
