Analog96
Looks like the precip out in central PA is mainly rain and freezing rain. Yep, wouldn't expect any snow or sleet, per soundings until tomorrow, if there is any precip left, and any of that would be wet snow.

Yeah I just posted "watch the EC come in with a bomb tonight" in the other thread But I've learned that lesson, I want 4 runs of the EC showing something similar before I bite on a sudden flip like that. Got burned by it twice in December... I should also probably learn the lesson of altering my forecast at the last second... nearly got burned on that during the last couple storms (lowered 6-10 to 4-8 when 6-10 was fine, in fact better, for 1/11... and raised coating-2 to 1-3 for the storm last night when the coating-2 was fine, and in fact better... )

famartin
Since the GFS and NAM both insist that there will be nothing but rain back home later tonight (which is totally believable based on the latest obs from central PA and current temps generally on the plus side of freezing), I'm checking out for tonight. I'll probably do a snowfall map for this event tomorrow evening (late evening by east coast time). Not that there's all that much to plot other than 1-3"... This put just enough of a coating on everything for my boss to park my truck for the day. I run a couple of steep hills in the mine, and he didn't want to risk sliding into a ditch or a bank, or worse. This week has been nearly a total loss as it looks like I'll only work two days.
