Agreed, although not sure why the uber-heavy band earlier actually dropped temps. Oh well, mother nature is a b**ch to figure out.

first batch was heavy enough to evaproatively cool the lower layers but did not mix down much air. This band is mixing down the air plus there is more warming going on aloft now so there is more warm air to mix down.

It looks like west of DC will get the longest period of freezing rain based on looking at the Radar. These areas would be most at risk as long periods of light to moderate freezing rain do the most damage.

? hes referring to the little dryslot directly to my south, while areas southwest still have precip streaming northeast...I see his point.

I just hope I get a delay tomorrow...its a mess out here but it might clear up by morning in Baltimore. This might be one of those situations where its not that bad in the city but where I live is a nightmare.

If you watch the movement of precip, the dry slot looks to be slide east toward the Bay. The precip that extends south toward Charlottesville is training up over 1-95 and points west.

Watch the radar, here and you will see what I mean. With that said, this was never suppose to be a multi-day rain event. It was always forecast to taper off to drizzle in the morning and then maybe pick back up later in the day.

lol thanks

I teach high school in Baltimore

10th grade government and I coach the Debate Team.

Policy, LD, or Ted Turner(I actually think its called something else now)? I did Policy in high school and some Parliamentary in college.

It seems like every debate coach teaches government.

DCA been's hanging tough at 30 for a few hours now. It got down to 29 between 10 and 11 or so, but been stuck at 30 ever since. Richmond has just warmed up to 33. I think the window for us to have a warm up overnight soon enough to avoid rush hour problems, especially I-95 and west, is starting to close...

I still cant fgure out why OBS's in my area are just overcast...based on radar it should not be, but I cant get enough motivation to get my lazy butt outside.

Automated reporting system error would be my guess. They report incorrectly a lot in winter events it seems.
