Southland Wx
So I finally joined the DSLR parade and got a Canon 60D Friday. I was wavering between going that route or going with the T2i, but I decided if I'm going to do this for the long-haul and want to learn the ins and outs of it, I'd go with the next one up. It's fantastic, and there's just so much to learn. Got both a 135 mm and the 250 mm lens. For now, I've been doing all auto settings until I get used to it (and start learning more about it), got a basic UV filter. So nothing special with these, but here's a few shots from LA yesterday. Rest of them are here. Downtown LA from the Hahn Recreation Area in southwest LA Crane at a pond in the same rec. area Hollywood sign at Griffith Park San Gabriel Mountains at Griffith Park San Bernardino Mountains (about 80 miles away) Catalina Island from Griffith Downtown LA from Griffith Park
Dale
GREAT PICS!!! Some might even say...."suitable for framing"!!! You might consider blowing these up....making prints...and SELLING them to LA residents who may have forgotten what a terrific view they get on a (somewhat rare....!) CLEAR day!! Or......to tourists who miss that scenery when they're only there for a couple of smoggy days in July!!

bobbutts
great pics! back when I was a kid, my buddy's father had a pic of LA skyline with the San Bernardino's in the BG He'd ask people where they thought it was, and almost everyone answered Denver.. He got a kick out of that..

Juliancolton
Awesome shots (for anybody, let alone a new DSLR user)! Really like the composition of the bird shot; nice lighting and implementation of the rule of thirds. I'm a Nikon fan personally, but I'd be happy to help you out if you have any DSLR-specific questions.
