Depends on the paperwork but probably some time in early or mid March. I will be working for the weather service in Cold Bay, Alaska. Hopefully I can get a quick chase in sometime in late February down south before I go....

Wow! Way out in the Aleutians! Hopefully you will still check in here occasionally and give us heads up on those Gulf of Alaska lows and oncoming storms for the lower 48, Still waiting for precip here from this system.

Interesting day. Started with about 2 inches of snow, with quite a bit of blowing snow out in open country. It quickly changed over to a mix of freezing rain and sleet around 10am, and continued all day. It became primarily regular rain mixed with sleet later in the afternoon. Right now though we have very large flakes of snow mixing in. Kind of looks like it wants to start ripping. Some pretty decent returns on the radar heading this way, so if it goes completely over to snow it could get interesting.

The snow that fell this morning has now condensed down to about an inch of white concrete.

Ohhh trust me I will be on the forum when I am not working....aside from barbecue, installing my DirectTV and maybe Hughesnet (up there on the island they only have dial-up and I use to be a tech for both) and maybe PS3 there will not be much to do. There are only 76 people on the island and it is only 70 sq. miles in size. Great fishing and hunting but I do neither. I will post info on stuff up that way that may come down here if they are decent storms.

All snow here now. Coming down moderately. Nice to see after spending much of the day under rain and sleet.

I see they picked up over 4 inches just east of Clinton. That's only about 10-15 miles north/northwest of us. The snow/mix line must have settled just north of us.

you've excelled at polishing these turd like events this winter. congrats.
