dendrite
We don't go with this kind of antecedent cold, 0 degrees in the morning into a fast changeover a few hours later. Well I've seen it happen plenty of times. -40F in NNE and -10s/-20s in C NH during the morning and then 18hrs later 10F with sleet. Then the next morning ZR/RA in S NH with mid 40s at PSM. Check out 1/13-14/99.
moneypitmike
Okay--time to head to bed. We're on page 39 of this thread. If the rest of the models have similar, I will be sorely disappointed if I come down to fewer than 15 new pages to get through in the a.m. 14.7/

HarveyLeonardFan
We don't go with this kind of antecedent cold, 0 degrees in the morning into a fast changeover a few hours later. 17 years ago almost to the very day it happened across much of SNE. The south winds were blowing, warming temps 50 degrees in the span of several hours!! At the same time Southern California was getting a significant earthquake. TalcottWx
This will probably end up being an interior warning cp advisory deal less amped then this solution.

Does any model show the winds going strong from the S? I've been hearing about some se and maybe some e, but then going ene or ne as coastal low pressure forms...
