snowstormcanuck
that's probably a good call. Looking at the 48rgem, my gut is it might step on the gas Hope you're right. I couldn't tell.
wxdudemike
For Ohio, GFS gives CVG .41", HAO .38" and CMH .27" I'll take an order of the NAM please... Not bad though. That is about identical to the 12z run for central Ohio IIRC.
cyclone77
FWIW, I think the NAM has done pretty well this season. It definitely handled todays system better (at least for this immediate area). The NAM can sometimes be a little too aggressive, but it seems that many times this winter the GFS was way too conservative as well.
snowstormcanuck
Liar. You're right. If the GGEM is going 30 over the limit I'm still not staying up for the EURO. I figure it's best to go to bed on a high note.
buckeye
Hope you're right. I couldn't tell. total guess based on it being about 3mb stronger with the low in the sw at the same timeframe as the 12zgem....the trough also looked a bit better aligned from the south to the north. wxdudemike
Yeah, the way the globals got their butts handed to them, I would not dismiss the NAM outright right now. Funny thing is the GFS got it right up here in Columbus last week. Maybe it was pure coicindence and nothing to do with how it happened, but the GFS came going .15 or .2" range. We ended up with maybe 3 or 3.5 inches of snow which is close to what the GFS showed with 18 or 20:1 ratios. Might have been a tad too low but the NAM was way too juicy here last week. Can't speak much for other areas though....

Well if this one doesn't work out it looks like the GFS will give us a shot at redemption by D6.

Chicago WX
Well if this one doesn't work out it looks like the GFS will give us a shot at redemption by D6. GFS would fit the theme of this winter here, moderate hits when it snows.
buckeye
LMAO, I did a serious LOL when I read that. he also targets areas north of the ohio river and mason dixon line for best snows....then he takes a stake and drives it thru the hearts of the DC crowd saying "let me be clear i was never targeting DC, virginia is not the northeast"....seemed rather irritated
buckeye
Is he even more amped up than the NAM? hard to tell, he just referenced it as being the phased idea he had always believed would happen. Up until now he was riding the ggem...and still might be tonight
