Were I you, I'd remove the snow just to make sure. You'd hate to have an icy mess there if Wednesday turns out more frozen. Rev would love it, most sane people wouldn't.

I'll do an over/under 3" on what I'll do. I have to drive to BDL pre-dawn on Wednesday anyway.

Congrats. You deserve some snow.

Guys-

You can add your current temp/wx to the left of your posts above where it shows your location. Just add a station code in your profile, this explains how to set it up in detail:

If you input anything, it won't show up until 15 past the hour, though I'll probably run it manually before then because I'm impatient to see it in action.

You can see what it looks like over there <-------------------------

Enjoy.

I'm only about 7 mi. W of the River with steady snow and .5" down while RadarMan down in Northampton is only seeing flurries. Is that all just due to latitude or that the Valley is narrow up here and i have some elevation?

edit: SN+ now!

For today's event MPMike (and by extension, Tip) may be right about the latitude being the prime factor.

In general though, it's hard to say why I don't do as well as you. The river here is about 110' while up there it's ~200'. You are at 380' according to your sig so you must be removed from the river by a couple miles, whereas MBY is about 5 feet higher than the height of the banks. I suppose that helps some. Also, I think the gradient is actually a little steeper down here, because Westhampton is only about 6 or 7 miles away, (or less) and is about 1100'. Also, the Mt. Holyoke range just south and is a rare E-W running range. Those peaks are roughly 1100' also. In NW flow like this, they are probably irrelevent, but I see downsloping effects very clearly in the UMass radar data on surface winds with a southerly component.

Still flurrying. Dusting on my car, but nothing on the driveway or walks.

1.2" here... probably done unless some stuff in central NY can hold together. This is about all I expected, but I didn't expect places only 30 to 40 mile north in the southern Dacks to have 4 to 6 inches as they did. All day long I was about 20 miles from the edge of moderate snow. That probably headed into VT.

Yeah radar just went dry.

SN- here. I'll take the 1.5" and be happy.

It looks to me like it has transitioned to a LES band now west to east right across that same area of the Southern Dacks that got hit and extending east to southern VT and the far northern Berkshires. It would be nice of that would slip south, but I doubt it.
