bobbutts
12" depth. Pretty sure this would be more if I was measuring with a board On the very NE edge of the heavy band now, hoping it stays a bit longer
dendrite
30dbZ pixels over my head again. This would be a good time for the band to stall and slowly pivot.

dendrite
Seems I feel the effects of these strong echoes after they pass a hair north of my location on GYX radar. This is some of the most intense snow I've had so far. Sanbornton and Canterbury flirting with 1/10SM again and the band is pivoting straight overhead. Awesome. Awesome. have to love to see that band pivoting down from the NE. 13" at 11:30, most snow since Jan '05. That is a long stretch for us. the last 4" has been very fluffy. am thinking that we get at least a couple more inches before this falls apart

MaineJayhawk
And the hits keep on coming, Up 3" for here, We are getting raked here........... Nice. 14 or 15 for mby sounds about right, maybe a tad low if a killer band or two sets up shop overhead, which is about to happen it would appear. Wind is increasing, going to make measuring more of a challenge.

eekuasepinniW
8.5" 10" Flake size has gotten way bigger with the 30dbz stuff, so the top of the snow has a light fluffy texture. The stuff that fell earlier is really heavy in comparison. Wind is starting to get sassy now. Dislike.

This band may keep some life to it for another hour or two at varying intensities. I'm excited for my next measurement at noon. I think we easily managed 2"+ in the last hour. My temp has been slowly climbing again (22.5F now) so we're still getting a little oomph from some WAA aloft on the east side of this band. MaineJayhawk
Went out and measured again, 1.5"/Hr 10.0" total....... I'll be heading out in a few minutes but I'd guess at about 10 or 10.5 given I had 9.0 at 11:00. Moderate snow for the most part last hour, with some heavier bursts. I just use wunderground. Since I submit my station data I can get the 40 frame loops. weathertap is nice, but I'm too cheap to pay for radar data. Time to measure. dendrite
Wow... I hadn't been paying attention to temps... a steamy 29.1 here. There's quite a W-E temp change on either side of this band down here. It looks like it's starting to erode though. Hopefully it can revive a bit as it pushes east with time. mahk_webstah
Can it actually snow harder? apparently it can. We have to be at 4" per hour +....hardest it has snowed all day and I can't believe I'm saying that...didn't know it was possible. I will measure again soon
