Kaner587
Picking up an inch an hour type of snow very different storm than dec 26 very spotty bands I think a general 6-8 inches with lolypops of 10 I'd be shocked if anybody ends up with a foot west of Suffolk county. people in rockland and westchester are approaching 8, I wouldn't be so sure of that. BxEngine
By the way..tonight's 00z Euro gave NYC almost 1" liquid. We probably should have checked that. Im not sure why but this made me LOL

sferic
Personally think you'll be fine either way..but the sfc low definitely tracked west of the model progs by a good bit. There's no way to bounce around it now. The radar makes it very, very evident. But either way you slice it, that huge CCB is coming over you. So get ready and get excited. Earthlight will SW nass cnty on Lon gIsland get in on the action?
jm1220
Going to be a real nail biter on Long Island in regards to that dryslot. It's headed on a beeline towards at least Islip and east. It definitely looks like models were way too far east with that feature today, and it could have implications further north into SNE. Everyone definitely looks like they get whacked with the snow currently in NJ though.
BL03
wow the storm is really getting going now looking at radar... If we could keep the banding going they will only get more intense in an hr or two.

earthlight
Im not sure why but this made me LOL It's just comical how everybody freaks out about the NCEP models...watches the radar...and forgets to check the most reliable QPF source by verification. Gotta love us

SnowGoose69
On the 2am hour LGA reports 4, Newark 6, JFK not with the SNINCR remark yet, as always they usually correct by the hour with the remark added, there is no way they didnt see at least 0.5 last hour and that qualifies for SNINCR 1/? remark

Dsnowx53
We'll be fine. It's going to pivot back here soon. Assuming we don't get into the dry-slot, and it stays to our east, we might get into a really nice band--since we'll be just to the west of a high subsidence area, which means more surface convergence.
