simpsonsbuff
Oh but to be in Boston, another hour around here and that about does it, bright sunny morning coming up. Not trying to be negative just realistic. Boston could torch. You want to be in Worcester.
tornadojay
This band I'm in is hanging on for dear life... It looks like the damage is done already. I've been under yellow echoes for a long time now. I haven't measured but eyeball estimation looks to be about 8 inches

cnjraider
More heavy echos moving east from Hunterdon/Somerset county Earthlight, you are correct! Heaviest snow of night for Hillsborough, NJ (Somerset County). I received 1.75" of snow from 11:50PM to 12:50AM. Going to take another hourly reading at 1:50AM. I would bet I will add another 2" since 12:50AM!
winterwx21
Subsidence in, deform out....subsidence out, deform in. I can deal with that if it continues for a few more hours. Yup, that's the deal. Right now I've gone light, and it keeps going back and forth. I just measured 4.5 inches. I figured about 8 for a total here, and think we're on track for that. Dosh
Very unsteady banding in this storm so far Its moving too fast and being kicked out by the stronger-than-expected upper level low (which tends to happen in miller B's) btw, measurement at 1:20 am is 5 inches in Westfield. Reports out of Hunterdon/Somerset indicate the best dendritic growth is occurring within that band. Making it's approach now...very excited. Not trying to be negative just realistic. I'm sorry, 4-6 inches I do not consider a noteable snowfall. You do realize it's JUST getting heavy now? Where are you located? green tube
About the same here thinking 6 - 8 will do it. 100 degrees 6 months ago , 80 inches of snow the perfect pair. whatta year you cant beat a climate with 4 seasons! the wind made the blizzard difficult to enjoy while outside.... but tonight is nature at its best. just wow! jm1220
Wow, that dryslot might really cut the eastern 2/3 of Suffolk off for a time. The snow is still coming down very heavy over NJ so it should be very temporary though.

Matt Hammer
Approaching 6" now. Visability next to nothing. Heavy snow. Easily 2" an hour. Started to shovel, but that didn't go so well! Wind picking up now as well! Highest gust I felt outside was probably close to 20mph.
RU848789
Just did a 2nd shoveling. Up to 5.0" as of 1:00 am, meaning I got 1.0" in the past hour (got 1.5" in the previous hour). However, it looked like I had another half inch on the ground by 1:20 am when I came in and it was really starting to pour down. Hoping I can get to 8-9" - looks like a few more hours of at least 1" per hour rates. Schools closed and work is delayed opening - I'll just work from home, since I don't have any major meetings. Snow is some of the prettiest snow I've ever seen - big flakes, really soft and fluffy. Surprised at people saying it's snowing more heavily than on 12/26, though - it's been heavy, but definitely not as heavy as that night, when I was getting a consistent 2" per hour with bursts of 3" per hour for many hours in a row. Bobby
Very heavy snow coming in waves. Just got in from a 20 minute drive around the KP/Smithtown area and it is amazing out. Videos up in the morning. This was just taken with my live cam ( www.kingsparkweather.com//wxsnowcam.php ) A little selfish plug Board showing 5.25" but blowing a bit more than before.
