Ababa
actually the comma head won't mature until after it has cleared the entire tri-state except for ares of central CT, snow in the city should come to an end by 2am and not increase much in intensity from what we are seeing now This seems like a ridiculous statement. Ababa
Moderate snow falling in Queens not too far from LGA. Took a 1.5 mile walk from the subway station and it was no big deal. Nothing special so far......in my walk during the blizzard I couldn't wait to get inside!

isnice
Back to SN+ after brief subsidence, and with that I'm out for the night. I'd much rather go to sleep knowing its snowing heavily outside than not snowing at all. Radar echoes look to be improving just to the south of central Long Island. Folks out there better brace themselves for impact! Up to 3 inches now. Yup, that's one inch in the last 40 minutes or so. Thank the lord for high ratios! dbc
Do people really think the big time snow ends by 2am? Utterly absurd and has no basis in fact or evidence.

NorthShoreWx
the temperature peaked at 29.3 degrees here, and now sits at 26.2 as winds shifted more northeast over the last hour. Peaked at 31.4 here about 20 minutes ago, but now down to 29 and we just got the first wind gust sufficient to blow snow off of the roof a moment ago. Coastal front is close by as ELIWx mentioned, 34 at FOK. Its nice that the temp has dropped, but it may not be done bouncing up and down yet. I'm liking this setup, but still not sure how the jackpot bands set up. We have 6" on the ground as of 11:30 (2" of it is new). I'm going to bed now. Risk is I miss all of the good stuff, but more likely I wake up at 3 AM, look out the window and am glad I've got a few hours of sleep already under my belt. It would have been great to have the sweet spot be from 7AM to noon, but its gonna be mostly a done deal by then. Ed
