johnc
This system really doesn't look like I thought it would on radar at this time. There was supposed to be a big blob starting to form along the DelMarVa coast... not a big blob moving in from central PA. Good thing you didn't fly out for this one. Madarao is not impressed. Actually that is not true: http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/hiresw/12/images/hiresw_p03_009l.gif Coastal doesn't get going until more like between 8-midnight. Watch. LMolineuxLM1
I am fine with the 4 inches. It would be nice to see the patches of open spaces on the ground that where the snow has melted be re-patched over.

Nah dude, check out the 21-0Z precip field from the WRF versus radar at 2230Z. There's really nothing showing up over eastern VA right now. LVblizzard
12z NAM matches up pretty well with the latest RUC analysis. But is it possible that the RUC analysis could be too far east? Here's the latest HPC map:

atownwxwatcher
I think many are forgetting that it is the primary that kickstarts this coastal low..... And people need to stop acting like the coastal is further to the north then it actually is... Latest surface map just updated from HPC Looking at the above we are still around the Hatteras area...... Which jives well with this from SPC
famartin
I think many are forgetting that it is the primary that kickstarts this coastal low..... No. Its the upper low that kick starts the coastal. The primary is only going to slow the coastal's development.
blue sky
15 mins, looks like a break coming then a better batch moving up. I think you are going to get Hammered,. i am hoping the bands go 30 miles west.

atownwxwatcher
No. Its the upper low that kick starts the coastal. The primary is only going to slow the coastal's development. The Upper low which is currently over western PA and Eastern Ohio ..correct? That is what i am referring to as the primary because it is my understanding that this is what is going to hand off to the coastal . If it is not that...then please point me to the image above from SPC where this "low" is...
