Greg

That band is about 3 miles west of me now according to GRLevel3...heavy snow here now...this might be the last big show unless we see some pivot deform action later. I would suspect that will be further east though..

Paul

Paul,

We're catching that heavy band now and it's coming down at a great clip.

West Caln Township:

Picked up .75" between 10:15-10:45

Storm Total @ 10:45pm: 3.3"

well according to daxx there is a higher ratio factor working in their favor now, so maybe that will propagate more over towards here in Southern Delco.

At 10:30 I had ~ 1.5 with 0.08 in the heated rain gauge. Not perfect but suggest ratios of 15-18 to 1 here in NW NJ. Snow is light and powdery. Eye balling it looks like about another 1" in past half hour. Heavy snow currently

I didn't call that Ewing one in but it looks pretty close to what my parents probably had at 10:39.. maybe a bit high, but that other guy always seems high.

Precip bands have started to be more north then east, and backend of precip has slowed its advance, good sign for the moment, maybe Estrn PA can stay under these intermediate bands for 3 or 4 more hours, we shall see.

The only thing is that the low seems to be trucking northeast just as fast as the back edge has been moving west... so unless it causes the back edge to grind to a hault...

I'd worry a bit more about the southern end of precip as that low is rocketing up the NJ coast

Philly... It won't be quite done even then in Philly, but that lighter stuff back in central PA will be around by then so that it'll be a much lighter rate. Shouldn't take much longer to reach Middlesex, but I think you'll do as well if not slightly better than Philly... the back edge of the heavy stuff should slow down as it approaches the coast.

I cant see this lasting past like 4 AM for Central Jersey..at least the real accumulating stuff. #s we were never really forecasted for the heavy end stuff. Im just under an inch IMBY. I just think the coastal stuff is happening to late for our area. Im ready for sleep, plowing commences at 4 AM expecting 4-6

Ray - thanks for clarifying. Had 2.0" as of 10:45 pm, then shoveled until 11:05 pm and measured again and we had 2.5", i.e., that means we're getting rates of 1.5" per hour - it's really coming down heavily, with little wind - big flakes. Gorgeous out there. If we get 1.0-1.5" per hour until maybe 4-5 am, that would be another 5-8" on top of our 2.5", which would lead to 7-11" which is right about where Mt. Holly had us on the snowmap (~9"). I'd be very happy with that, but wouldn't be upset if we got some really heavy bands and/or longer snowfall duration to get a foot or more.

bac/warlock - have you actually measured? Hard time believing you only have 1". I know you hate snow - are you sure you're not using that heated snowboard? :>)

Glad it's not just me seeing that, I'd be very happy to approach 5". Especially on a night when Penn State had another upset in basketball.
