mitchnick
everything is really beautiful with the fresh snow cover trees, in particular, are real pretty I guess at some point the wind kicks up and wrecks it, but its nice while it lasts finger measurement indicates 2.25-2.5"
real
The amazing thing about the back edge is it couldn't have stopped snowing more than an hour ago here. Now, however, the moon is out and can be seen vividly. Where did all the clouds go? Doesn't it usually take a few hours for the clouds to move out? yoda
I admit I am dissapointed with this storm, but it was nice to see the ground covered again with snow. Probably finished with just over an inch here I would guess.

real
I've lost track. Anyone have any thoughts on which modeled handled this event best for this area? I sort of remember the massive snow-hole on the GFS for days that seems to have panned out from Nova down the Valley...
PhineasC
Finished with about 3.5 inches here. Nice little event. I am satisfied.

Pen48guins
It could have been a lot worse. It sure is nice to see more than just a coating on the ground. I will actually have to clear snow off the car in the morning. Now If we could just get one all day event I would be happy. Preferably when I don't have to work. Ellinwood
Ok so I have these so far.... Frederick: 2.5" Columbia: 1.5" Gaithersburg: 1.5" Leesburg: 1" Those are the ones that I have for now unless someone else has higher amounts before 11 they want to share. I just went and measured 2.0" of snow in Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village. (Maybe 2.1" if I was greedy, but that's only based on isolated clumps of flakes settling higher, so 2.0" would be the best estimate) Sorry that it came after 11 Sleep and all... WTHunter
3" here in Parkville... definitely our 1st snow of the year! Dec. 26 was only dust and last week we were between .5" and .75". Funny how much difference a year makes, last year we were bummed about anything less than a foot. But today I've seen, "Solid 1.5" here so I'm stoked!" and "Got 2.75" IMBY, definitely not a bust for me!" LOL Nice to have perspective! SnowJoe
isolated clumps of flakes settling higher...sweet. 1.5 here ...last time I measured.
showmethesnow
24 degrees with some flurries. 2.8 inches on the ground here in Hanover PA. Wondering if some of the heavier snow to the west can make it here to maybe make it 3 inches.
Herb@MAWS
Drive Columbia-to-DC at 5am not bad at all. Didn't measure but at least 2" IMBY -- I think slightly more.

Curlyq
Drive from Frederick to Washington, DC not bad this morning. One car was flipped over on the exit to the Clara Barton Parkway from 495-South. I did hear that Frederick County MD schools are closed with other surrounding counties on a 2-hr delay. It was nice to see the white stuff again! Has Jeb come back from his walk yet?

NattyBo
Dammit, MoCo schools two hour delay, not closed. Disaster for me, kinda puts me in no mans land o having to go into work on time but deal with this, too. Blah

mappy
2.1 measured at Fort Meade so I'll go with that for me. BWI had 2 inches. Drive into Baltimore City was smooth sailing and very pretty.
Fozz
2.9" here. For a light snow event, this is not bad at all. Everything is covered, and the landscape doesn't look too different than it would in 4-6".
CranberryWX
Total 2.1" since yesterday morning. 0.06" melted in the gauge. It was windy so I think the gauage capture was low. This snow was very light and fluffy. Light snow continues this morning.
