iceman
Freezing drizzle here in Raleigh. The morning commute tomorrow may be icy, as well, and NCSU has canceled all classes commencing before 10 AM. Same here with the freezing drizzle. Roads will be rough in the morning. FYI, the precip out west seems to be breaking containment and headed east.
Poimen
I guess it's freezing drizzle...but it is precipitating of some sort here.
WXinCanton
had a nice little flurry burst. Im at 31.8, my street is drying out nicely. I would bet we have more accidents tonight with people thinking the roads are fine then hitting that rogue ice patch.. If you go slow I think you will be fine. Of course some won't
chapelhillwx
Freezing drizzle pretty much all day here and it's picked up to the point where you really need wipers. Getting very, very slippery. Gonna be interesting to see if that precip makes it here.

JQPublic
Freezing drizzle out here as well. Left for work around 1000am and as long as you weren't driving aggressively you would get to work fine. The roads were quite icy, but slushy. The ride back was smooth. Lots of freezing drizzle at work but none of it ever froze to my car in the lot?? Not sure how warm we got this afternoon. I'm looking forward to the cold dry weather for a few days. Gonna be interesting to see if that precip makes it here. It's not freezing drizzle if it's not freezing, which it isn't. Things are just getting wetter and wetter. I think the latent heat of fusion has turned off all icing and is starting to melt the sleet pack, such as it is.

kvegas-wx
I don't know if anyone saw, but there's snow in every state now but Florida. And even though it didn't accumulate, I bet we got within a 100 miles of having snow flying in Florida the same day 49 other states saw snow on the ground. So if this is "The Day After Tomorrow", I can't wait to see what "The week after next" might bring us. LOL. Meh, won't matter, I'll be in sunny San Jose, CA all week. Poimen
the drizzle is certainly freezing on contact here...FWIW. Also, wife just got the call: Durham schools are closed tomorrow.
tarheelwx
Did anyone hear of any severe icing? I know before the storm many were expecting widespread ice of over half an inch. I expected to see power crews rolling and power out for days in many, many areas. I've heard nothing. Did anyone get hit with 1/2" or more? WeatherNC
the drizzle is certainly freezing on contact here...FWIW. Also, wife just got the call: Durham schools are closed tomorrow. Our schools are on a 2 hour delay, same as this morning. Just got the phone call, which is nice knowing and not getting woken up at 5:30am with the message. Lots of accidents here this morning on the bridges, they even had to shut down a few because the cars were wrecking so often. I ended up with 0.1" storm total accumulation, and most, if not all of that is ZR. Made it up to 32 today, but that did not melt any of it. Deck is still glazed, as are the trees and almost everything else. The wind has picked up a bit, and I can here the cracking sounds when outside of the ice flexing on the branches. No downed limbs or real issues from accretion, just a sloppy trace event that was painful to watch as areas in SE NC got a good thump. I guess we can't be greedy all the time here, nice to share the wealth every now and again to keep us honest.
phil882
Where are my northwest flow fellas at... light snow starting up here again as the temperature drops... looks like the greater Asheville area might pick up an inch if we are lucky! Temp: 29.1 degrees Humidity: 74% but rising.

TW I think the only place that got close with that sort of icing was the inland areas around CHS.
