HoarfrostHubb
Since when did people ever depend on milk so much? Never understood that. In this day and age, with snow removal, people will be at the stores not too much after the storm is over. Need eggs, too... otherwise, no French Toast Blizzard '78 holdover... I'll be skiing Wa-Wa Weds night... screw the milk. This is so fun
Cold Miser
btw...this shows 1pm Wed N winds 34 kts at BOS with 1.24 having falling past 6 hourS What exactly is snown with that sequence of numbers, and how are you reading it?
BrokenASOS
Thanks, I thought that was a Powerball he might have won What is that from? Looks like FOUS data.
Baroclinic Zone
Prob very near KPYM and down to near EWB. This might also extend up the immediate coast to Marshfield/Scituate. Agreed, you get 5-10 miles inland and the vv's will be more than enough. Here take a look at TAN. http://68.226.77.253/text/NAM80km/NAM_Ktan.txt
MaineJayhawk
Got the soundings for TAN. Nothing is above freezing except the surface temps. 1.72" melted. 0.97" for PWM. I find this acceptable.
ski MRG
LOL, thanks, I remembered it well. More of a rhetorical statement. Impressed that you could find that in the hundreds of posts since then.

moneypitmike
I do like how the SREFs ticked NW. That's a good sign IMO. The T-R-E-N-D. Watch it. Enjoy it. Shovel it. :snowman:

weathafella
Thanks, I thought that was a Powerball he might have won What is that from? OSU Twister. http://asp1.sbs.ohio-state.edu/fous/ETA/FOUS61.KWNO I learned FOUS from RikC who occasionally posts here....about 12-13 years ago. I find it a valuable quick and dirty tool. eg: If numbers of the group on the far right are 00, BL temps is 0C. If it is 99, bl is -1C. 2nd 2 numbers are H8 and far right 2 are H7 (I think....can't remember). Wind vectors are in second set of numbers. eg: 0134 means 010 vector and 34 kts. Far left numbers...last 3 are qpf in the 6 hour period.
cheetah440
You're fooked... no way to delay? nope, already booked and meetings lined up. Fooked is right. BUT, I do remember landing at Logan back in Dec 07, that big hit that paralyzed Boston one afternoon (14-15?) with 14" after circling the airport for 2 hrs and they had actually closed the airport. That flight was from France though. You're right, I better book another night now.
CoastalWx
Agreed, you get 5-10 miles inland and the vv's will be more than enough. Here take a look at TAN. http://68.226.77.253...km/NAM_Ktan.txt It could get close like the last storm, but hopefully it bombs out like depicted or even goes 15-20 miles east, for you. I do think you may dryslot for a bit, but the damage will be done.
BrokenASOS
0.97" for PWM. I find this acceptable. Can you say, 12"+? I'm thinking overall ratios around 12 or 13:1 for us.
