I'm not well versed with doing pictures on line but I have a lot of pictures I'd like to share but I don't like how big they are and want to shrink them. I know of a website that can shrink them but you can only do one at a time and it takes too long. So how do I shrink them to a reasonable size?

Microsoft Paint will do it.

I know some free image editors such as Paint.net, and GIMP. I personally use Photoshop CS5, but its $800.

This is by far the easiest way I have found...it's a windows power toy, just highlight your pictures then right click and select the size (800x600 is always a simple size)....then it will format them and rename them to something like IMG264_Medium. Then just move them to a separate folder then upload.

http://download.micr...wertoySetup.exe

I've used it on XP/VIsta/Win7

Wow, it works great..thanks so much burger. I've been sitting here annoyed because I have had to do them one by one with photo studio so this will makes much quicker.

I'll post some here in a little while..thanks again though.

Yea before I found that I hated having to resize photos or using an online batch photo editor.

The pics with the clear skies was obvious took this evening and as you can see not much melted. It looks so cold out there this evening with the snow.

Other pics were taken yesterday from the advantage point of the lake and some from the road. My dog had a blast but it was so funny watching her slip and slide on the dam..which looked like a mountain of snow.

great pics. I'm moving to Athens. You've turned your rain AND snow drought in a major way there, blowing me away.

There are some great photos on this thread! Keep them coming!

Here is a short video clip containing some of the photos and short video clips I took Monday afternoon near my house in NE Macon County in far western North Carolina...

I am eagerly awaiting the next storm!

LOL, thanks everyone.

Yeah it's been a remarkable 2 winters for sure. I have no idea how or why things have turned around here but it's been amazing. I was in such a long snow drought, I seriously wondered what in the hell did it take to get a 4 inch snow here and if it was even possible anymore lol. These two winters will be remembered for a very long time, that's for sure.

One thing about those pics, sorry for the low quality/slight fuzziness of them. I used the program burger gave me to shrink them down from 500kb to 2MB to just 50 kbs or so, so they wouldn't be such a memory hog. So the originals do look a little better. I have some more I will post later.

For all the northerners that make fun of us... :lmao:

 that is hysterical

the neighborhood is hiring a private contractor to try and dig us out (just met with a few neighbors in the yard surveying the glacier that used to be our front yards). city and county cant do it - hopefully we will be out tomorrow!

I thought for sure that we would go back tomorrow... but I guess whats the point going for 1 day? Will be interesting to see how the roads refreeze tonight

It would suck to actually be stuck because of ice and snow. I hope you can get out!

in this county there is just no way - the main streets are ok, but around here no one can get to them, because none of the side streets have been sanded or plowed. i doubt the busses could make 1/3 of their routes

eh, not too bad lol. its a small price to pay for such an excellent winter storm :guitar: and i would gladly do it again :devilsmiley:

Well here is the danger of melting ice first hand. This was taking at my work from the CC security camera. The guy who this happened to said it was solid ice:

It fell from the green awning:

:o Thats crazy! That would have scared the crap out of me. If he had been 5 feet further down the side walk... :yikes:
