Appears that way.

Looks like there are two options for the Friday-Sunday period -- snow or arctic cold.

12z Euro operational for next Sunday is on the right, showing the storm. On the left is the Euro ensembles, which show an arctic high building down and no storm. The models are pretty much all showing the same with the southern branch feature, but are much different on phasing and timing. Should be interesting to watch.

Wow, NAM is yet another warning-level snowstorm for NW Jersey. It is there year. Crazy!

Not only NW NJ----Im pretty sure looking at the maps that the NAM gives us in the lower susquehanna 8 to 12" of snow in two different bursts. The map seems to indicate that the western low dissipates much earlier allowing the coastal to take over much sooner and shutting off the warm advection. I don't know how to find surface temps but I'd be willing to bet they stay below freezing. It looks like it starts snowing around 3AM Tuesday morning then quits around 2PM in the afternoon after dumping 6 to 8" of snow. Then there is a six hour lull with nothing, then it starts back up again after 7pm and continiues until 2PM Wednesday afternoon depositing another two to three inches. Meanwhile southern NJ and NYC get too close to the low and go over to rain after several inches of snow.

Does my interpretation look ok??

Sorry guys for getting your hopes up even temporarily.

Caught the numerical output of the NAM for MDT and saw that it gives us 2 to 3" of snow, followed by a period of sleet, then followed by some freezing rain. Then the lull, followed by plain rain as surface temps reach the mid 30's.

Oh well...onto next weekend.

Not sure what this means if anything, but my forecasted low last night was 10, the actual low was 23. Currently at 26 and hoping we get some further warming today to lessen our chances of freezing rain tomorrow morning.

Doesn't seem like it wants to warm to quickly though. I have been working outside since 6. Its cold out!
