Manny
Based on the Euro, the GFS is the far Eastern outlier, not only did the Rgem come west, so did the GGEM. It's Pretty much Nam/Euro/Srefs/other short-range models as QPF indicators, track indicators against the GFS.

Ericjcrash
Bloomberg watchout, just like the Boxing day storm guidance largely increases amounts after the general public are told a moderate storm is on the way, one that appears manageable but turns out to be crippling. H2Otown_WX
Is it just me or is the NMM really slow with the evolution of the storm? I'm out to hr 30 on NCEP and it has barely started snowing in NYC.
danstorm
thanks!loving my area rite now"NW suffolk" I'll be in Ridgefield, Ct. for this... told my sister that 12"+ was a 70% likelihood... may need to revise that estimate upwards. Sometimes areas to the NW have the most fun with these - kind of a cliche but rings true... not counting any inches yet, though.

SBUWX23
I would think thundersnow is a potential in this setup. The most difficult part will be the placement of the heaviest snow banding. Some folks are going to get hit real hard. I have not been able to see the Euro yet. Whats the central pressures on the Low as it is bombing? Manny
1.25" for NYC is very similar to the NAM's output and other short-range models, what a shift west led by the Nam last night.
