Violentweatherfan
take a look at the post again, and you will see the 700mb vv's (vertical velocities) depicted in our general neck of the woods (not shown in your snippet), indicating significant lift in the atmosphere underneath which there would be enhanced snowfall rates. Thanks for the quick lesson! Living in Lower Bucks County PA, I too would love to see this verify. Again, thank you VWF

dryslotted
GFS out to 24, looks dry Do we really need to be looking at models (outside of hi-res meso) at this point? Not a criticism of you posting on the GFS, a legit question because if I recall from the past, there isn't much to be learned from the GFS at this stage of the game... blizzardlover
Carmen You should get your wish with the heavy snow staying south and east of my location...enjoy! Paul LOL, we hope. There are a lot of folks west of PHL who get a nervous tick everytime the words "sharp" and "cutoff" are used with these storms. Shades of 12/30/00 and, oh yeah, 12/26/10, come to mind. AND MAY ALSO BE A LITTLE SSE OF THEOBSERVED POSN Could be the cause of the difference with the NAM & QPF because the track is no further east or west.. green tube
I think the GFS is not very reliable in this short time frame. it sucked on the 12z dec 26 run. it cut way back on the QPF totals over nj that day. it had something like .5" QPF over me and i ended up with 20" of snow.
